We believe that everyone should have access to mental
healthcare when they need it – the well-being of our children, families and communities depends on it.
Youth & Family Counseling opens doors to mental healthcare by addressing the barriers too many families face when seeking professional care for a mental health issue: transportation barriers, language barriers, cultural barriers, financial barriers.
Youth & Family Counseling (YFC) is more than just an organization – it’s a vision for a stronger, healthier community which engages stakeholders from all walks of life.
For our clients, YFC is a safe place to turn when they need help and support. For almost 60 years, families have trusted us to help them cope with life’s challenges, heal from traumatic experiences, and go on to thrive.
For our employees, YFC is a place to work and grow with the overarching mission of improving the lives of the people we serve. Every staff member, regardless of their role, is in it to make a difference.
For our advocates and supporters, YFC is a way to have an impact on their community. It provides opportunities to partner with other like-minded people to build healthier individuals, stronger families, and thriving communities.

“Sheila has helped my daughter greatly by giving her coping techniques and sharing exercises she can do to calm. We’ve had a much better time with her communication since beginning here, and have seen a decrease in meltdowns and tantrums.”

Impact 2019
In 2019, our focus was client engagement. By investing in our clinical team and providing them with strong internal supports, YFC clinicians were able to focus like never before on developing
strong therapeutic relationships with each of their clients.
As a result, YFC clients were more successful in treatment. Our clients stayed in treatment longer, allowing them to address the underlying problems causing their symptoms and distress. Because they were engaged in treatment, they learned new skills which led to positive changes in their lives, reduced the number and severity of their symptoms, and experienced improved functioning at home, work, or school.
