sITe 1 – Yarra Valley Water’s Waste to Energy (WtE) plant
This is the first Waste to Energy plant in Australia. This plant converts organic waste otherwise bound for landfill, into renewable energy. This plant will produce enough electricity to run the adjacent sewerage treatment plant as well as exporting electricity to the grid.

MCG water recycling facility, built underground, produces water for irrigation to the surrounding Yarra Park.
