Lesson Objectives

This module gives children understanding and sense of responsibility for positive and negative outcomes while learning alternative responses to stress: deep breathing, physical exercise and creative expression

They will learn how to recognize the need to consciously encourage themselves, monitor negative self-talk by replacing critical comments with supportive ones

The ACLC Facilitator Styled Learning is designed to develop communication and interpersonal skills in the classroom for both facilitators and children.It offers series of related discussion questions that gives a complete introduction to each of the Club’s Learning Objectives for the children to grasp.This teaching style emphasizes children-centered learning with more responsibility placed on the children for initiatives to meet demands of various learning tasks.

InvestigationUsing Investigation, the club encourages children to

gather information from books, magazines, newspapers and reference sources at home or in the library.

Interaction

This style of teaching develops communication and interactive skills both inside and outside classroom. It help students develop warm, supportive relationship creating an excitement about learning. It enables children to feel comfortable in the classroom as they experience apt levels of independence and creativity. Interaction provides hands-on activities, role play and other types of group participation to include field trips - visitations and interviews. The “interview” section teaches students to record and report information acquired from people – it’s all fun!

Our CuratorOladele Hussein is a life skills teacher, poet and dramatist. A graduate of Creative Writing, Writers Bureau, United Kingdom with Certificate, International Relations, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.He has been a children social and emotional skills trainer for years. Serving as facilitator and program coordinator for various summer camps targeted at children between age 5 and 16. He uses hands-on core motor building activities in arts/crafts, creative writing, leadership and character education for building capacity. He is an advocate of work-life integration, good governance and an international affairs commentator using his social media space to engage youths in current affairs for positive change with compelling creativity.

Our Clientele

The ACLC Afterschool Enrichment Club has in its clientele, MICA Children Learning Center, Abuja, deploying Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) to help build productivity. The club’s Character Education and Leadership Program (CELP) had also been deployed at Fasnik Private School, Lagos for it’s class captains and prefects.It has been in partnership with ICT 4 Schools, Reading Rainbow, School, Abuja as well as iMedia TV, Abuja with the mandate of enhancing children’s inherent traits helping to build TV stars and on Air Personalities to include writing proficiency for the MCN TV Show members. Our client also includes Guided Beginnings, a renowned family expert platform in Abuja with its Summer Camps in Leadership and Character Education.
