The Analysis of Background of the Study in Rahmawatis Paper

A paper is one of requirements for getting bachelor degree of education. It must be

completed by all students of university. To make the best paper, the students of university must

comprehend all elements of a paper. One of the most important elements is Background of the

Study because it will influence the writers mind to continue writing a good paper. Like Mr. K.

Adireja said that the better background of the study they make, the easier to continue writing a

paper. It proves that the background of the study is the first way to make a paper well. In the

background of the study, there are four elements which must be paid attention-basic concept,

existing phenomenon, previous related research, and entitling-by all students who are going to

arrange or make a paper. Consequently, I will analyze the background of the study in

Rahmawatis paper and give comment for it based on four elements of the background of thestudy.

The first element which I have analyzed is about Basic Concept . In the background of the

study belongs to Rahmawatis paper, the basic concept is very good because she combined both

general statement and quotation is coherence. Each idea is supported by quotation which makes

it stronger. The placement of quotation is suitable with the role of arranging paper. It proves that

her paper is good because the readers, I am as a reader for example, will understand to what she

is going to explain in her own paper. Therefore, the basic concept in her background of the studyis interesting and acceptable for other people.

The second is about Existing Phenomenon . She described a little bit phenomena about

vocabulary mastery, but she emphasized that vocabulary is so important to be thought accurately

to make the students not only know the vocabulary, but also comprehend what its meaning. In

existing it, she also explained that vocabulary mastery influences to the fourth basic skill;

listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In fact, having limited vocabulary, I also get difficulties

in mastering English skill. In brief, the existing phenomenon the she described can identify easily

by the readers.

The third, the element I analyzed, is about Previous Related Research . The research that

she presented in her background is clear. She described it well because her description about the

research is supported by the definition about the techniques and adding quotation as supporting

idea to make it stronger. The readers also will understand to all explanations which she

described. So, the Previous Related Research can be identified by the readers because she places

it appropriately.

The last is about Entitling. For the last analysis, I saw the entitling is very clear. She put it

in her background clearly in the last paragraph to make the readers know what she is going to

explain in the next chapter of the paper. It makes all elements clear in arranging the background

of the study. Clearly, the Entitling looks perfect focusing to the topic that she will explain.

Based on an explanation described above, I stat that Background of the Study inRahmawatis paper is very good because she has applied all elements of it. All I analyzed based

on my opinion and applying a little bit knowledge that I know from my best lecturer, Mr. K.
