LBP Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Solapur AQAR-2016-17 Page 23
7.3 Give two Best Practices of the institution.
Best Practice : I
Teacher Enrichment through Seminar, Conference
Goals -
1. To aware teacher fraternity with latest happenings in the respective field.
2. Sharing and exchange of knowledge and new ideas.
3. Students (stakeholders) involvement.
4. Research orientation through experts.
5. Accountability towards society, students and our college.
The Context –
IQAC has always been trying to enhance and update all the faculty members. They
should cope up with the recent happenings in their field and learn the new things from the best
resource persons. Every year college conduct National and Univesity level seminar and
workshop but intionally, it has been decided that eache department has to organize at least one
national or international seminar to understand the new aspects of the respective subjects. IQAC
encouraged teachers to prepare and draft the schedule and execute it properly. Not only teachers
but maximum student involved in the successful planning and execution of these activities.
More than 8 Seminars and workshops were organized by the college.
The Practice –
In its very first meeting of the IQAC, it has been decided that to organize all these
seminar and workshops in the month of February and March because most of the teaching work
comes under control and teacher and student can actively work in these activities. So, the following
schedule can give the exact idea of the planning of seminar.
1. International Seminar on the life and work of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar – 17-02-2017
2. International Seminar on Hindi and Marathi Language - 08&09 – 04-2017
3. Natinal Seminar on NAAC - 22-23- 02-2017
4. Natinal Seminar on Education - 25-02-2017
5. Natinal Seminar on Commerce - 25-02-2017
6. State level workshop for Administrative Staff – 28-02-2017
7. University level workshop on „Syllabus of B.A. -1‟ - 25-01-2017
8. University level workshop on „ Economics‟ - 29-01-2017
9. University level workshop on „Library Science‟
10. University level workshop on „Yoga and Stress Management‟ – 28-02-2017
11. University level workshop on „Language Preservation Day‟ - 27-02-2017
12. University level workshop on „Gender Sensitization‟
13. University level workshop on „UPSC, MPSC and IBPS‟ –
14. University level workshop on „Student‟s History Congress‟
Evidence of Success –
There is a positive change in the overall development of these students. They are now
well in communication, etiquettes and confident. More than three hundred uniforms had been
stitched by our students of „Tailoring and Fashion Desigining Course‟. College Canteen is run
by our alumni student. Students receive good remuneration for the service they offered.
Problems Encountered –
i) Irregularity, due to domestic responsibilities.
ii) Low remuneration
iii) Diwali and Summer vacations
iv) Awkwardness with peer group
v) Lack of advanced computer knowledge
LBP Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Solapur AQAR-2016-17 Page 24
Best Practice : II
THEME BASED COLLEGE MAGAZINE : AN INITIATIVE FOR
STUDENT STRENGTHING THROUGH CREATIVE WRITING
Goals -
1. Contribution to National Development through „Digital India.
2. Stepping towards e-classroom and virtual classroom.
3. To well-equip all students, Teachers and Administrative staff with ICT.
4. To promote paperless work.
5. To upgrade academics and administration of the college.
The Context – ICT is playing key role in every walk of life. Entire higher education is changing with
new inventions happening in the field of ICT. The process of college admission is online till the
result, everything is online. While filling up their admission forms, students were unable to do
with ease. Most of the competitive examinatios form are online and government is encouraging
for digitization of services. Keeping in mind this we‟ve planned „Digital Education
Programme‟ for students, teachers and administrative staff.
The Practice –
Initially, computer literate students and faculties have been trained properly. Remaining
teaching and administrative staff was trainied about „how to use internet, search websites, how to
open an e-mail account, attache files, scan document and send etc. and how to transfer money
online. Most of the notices are sent online. Examination forms are filled up online. Audio-
visual teaching through LCDs create more student-friendly environment in the college. Lectures
of experts are organized by Video-conferencing regularly.
Evidence of Success –
Online Payment, Examination Branch, College Admission Branch, Library, Scholarship
Branch, Central Office for Maintaining Correspondence and Records. This was followed by
arrangement for Computer Training Programme for the non-teaching staff engaged in the
respective branches. The college has taken up some measures for selected non-teaching staff for
computer hardware training. Students can receive message about their exama schedule, recipts
and they can download from anywhere through their user ID and passwoard.
Problems Encountered –
The challenges faced during the upgradation of the office are that the staff members
were shy to undergo the training. A meeting was organized by the Principal and it has been
decided by the IQAC to plan a programme for the supporting staff to have the training. A good
speech by the Principal and his commitment has motivated the staff undergo the training. The
computer department has undertaken this activity. Available financial and infrastructural
resources of the college were utilized.
