A delighted Stolt commented. “I am sohappy to give my Sweden a second winin a row here in Oman. The trainer[Khalifa bin Hamdad] asked me to stayclose to the leading pack and I did justthat, and in the final stage my horseresponded very well.

“In 2014 I came second, but today Iwas on a date with luck and I’m happyto qualify for the World ChampionshipFinal in Abu Dhabi. This is the dream ofevery jockey participating in thisseries.” She added.

Alyson Deniel who was representingGreat Britain, was out of luck on thisoccasion, finishing sixth, however shehad previously won a leg of the seriesin Australia, and rode in the finals in2014. She was full of enthusiasm forthe opportunities the series hadoffered her saying. “Wow! What afantastic series of International races. Itbrings the best amateur andapprentices from around the world tocompete on level terms. It gives youthe chance to go to places that someof us can only dream of. Competing inAustralia, Oman and Abu Dhabi aresome of the best highlights of mycareer so far.

“We, as competitors, want for nothingwhilst we are away - wonderful hotels, food and hospitality. Lara Sawaya doesan exceptional job of at organisingeverything. I’ve been very lucky to have

been invited to represent Great Britainand would love to continue to do so.Our Jockey Co-ordinator, Sarah Oliver,is so important to the Festival andworks extremely hard.

She continued. “Riding Arabians arevery different from ridingThoroughbreds, they are smaller, sharper in their movement. They aregreat fun and extremely tough with anamazing recovery rate.

“Even though I didn’t win this time, thetrip to Muscat, Oman was great. Theracetrack and surface at Al Rahbaracecourse was very different to what Iam used to at home. I thoroughly enjoyriding in the series which as well asgiving me the opportunity toexperience racing in other countries, gives me the chance to make newfriends and we can share ourexperiences and knowledge.”
