To Ty, the message was clear: Asia is developing its internal markets to free itself from dependency on the US and European markets. “What a colossal market to be in,” says Ty. “And this includes the future of film and video industries here.” This, he explains, is unquestionably linked to the new generation of digital media technologies, which replace theexpensive and time consuming processes of using videotape, as well as LED light-ing, which replaces the uncomfortably hot and energy hungry traditional lighting. One side of Ty’s business focuses on systems integration for LED lighting, and next generation storage and asset management products. Certainly one of his most exciting new product lines is LitePanel’s LED lighting systems. These are used in the White House press room, the Pentagon,

and on TV shows such as CBS News, 60 Minutes, CSI, Desperate Housewives, Fox’s 24,Survivor and many others. They have also been used on numerous feature films, including ‘King Kong’ and ‘I Am Legend.” They are also employed in space by NASA. This Emmy Award winning product is the ‘Green’ Industry Standard. “Just imagine - a prod-uct that cuts theelectricity bill up to 95%,” says Ty. “One TV stationreported saving over US$600,000 on their annual electricity bill using LitePanels and each individual light bulb is guaranteed for 50,000 hours, which translates to

over 10 years of use. It’s an amazing product.”

media and entertainment, corporate, government and military accounts. The flagship software system, Constel-lation VCM, has been sold to firms that include Universal Sports and Point 360. Their Archive Station system was used to manage all video workflow for the David Fincher feature film ‘The Social Network.’ Another development is the Remote Station, a remote editing facility, for clients that include the X-Games, Iron Man Triathlon and the Grammy Awards. The company also provided technicalservices for the live 2-disc DVD ‘If All Goes Wrong,’ which chronicles therock band ‘Smashing Pumpkins’return to performing.

G Technology has the best HardDrive products in the US for video/film applications. The products arerugged, reliable and stylish. The film and videotapes that were once the mainstay of capturing and holding content are slowly being replaced by hard drives as the media of choice. Ty is bringing G Tech to Southeast Asia. Ty is also presenting Rosco products to Southeast Asia. Rosco Laboratories Inc. is a successful, 100-year-old innovative

company supplying products for thetheatre and movie industries. It hasreceived four Academy Awards (Oscars) for significant product achievements. Rosco is Hollywood’s choice for the best filters, gels, and has also innovated a number of lighting products, including the LitePad, a remarkable LED based fixture. The LitePad is a soft Led light designed to film in small spaces, such as the interior of a car. The other side of Ty’s business isinternational trade. He does business in the US, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia. As he said: “Successful global trade is the ability to connect the dots without getting hurt.” Ty doesn’t believe in “selling” products and only deals with the best products that basically sell themselves. Coming from New York City, Ty knows that business people there have a great distaste of being sold to. They know what they want, and expect to be shown the best options in the pursuit of what they need. He started his first business there in 1984 which he sold in 2003. He added LA as a home that year to focus more on international trade, especially in Asia. His first deals were importing video products out of Japan. By the following year he was also living in Singapore, and by 2007, he dropped NYC and moved between homes in LA, Singapore and Bangkok. Today he has a lovely wife and son in Bangkok and is a member of the Singapore-Thai Chamber and American Chamber. He’s also a member of theRotary Club Bangkok South where he has the most fun serving the community and giving back to society.
