a Note froM yoUrlIfestyle dIreCtor, sHawN esPosItoThe highly anticipated opening of the Valencia Bay Clubhouse exceeded everyone’s expectations! Trolleys transported residents from their own neighborhoods to the clubhouse, where they were greeted by the Valencia Bay sales staff and a pianist playing the baby grand piano in the lobby. The wait staff served mimosas and bloody marys and a Godiva chocolate box with a decal that read “welcome to the sweet life” was given as a gift.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed an amazing breakfast provided by Flakowitz, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and opening remarks by the President of GL Homes. After the opening ceremony, residents were invited to explore their new Clubhouse. The building was alive with wonderful activities in every room. A few of the highlights were a cooking demonstration by Chef Eric (in the demonstration kitchen), professional poker dealers in the poker room, Mah-Jongg demonstrations and sign-ups in the card rooms, painting and sketching demonstrations and sign-ups in the arts & crafts room, and chair massages and equipment orientations in the fitness center. We even had a Zumba demonstration that had many residents dancing on the stage! Our DJ certainly had folks moving!

Since the opening, residents have been enjoying their new Clubhouse. With so much to offer, there is always something fun and exciting to do.

We sincerely hope you enjoy everything we have to offer. We are busy building your new schedule and we continue to develop your lifestyle program. Classes and events are being planned to keep residents very, very busy.

It’s a Great Day in The Bay!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have worked in property management for the past 11 years, and I have enjoyed being involved with a community similar to Valencia Bay. I have always operated with an open-door policy and appreciate Resident input and suggestions. Please do not hesitate to contact me at Vbaypm@

langmanagement.com or call the office at 561-336-2665. I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

resIdeNt serVICes desk

Greetings from the Resident Services desk in the lobby of the new Community Center at Valencia Bay. I could not be happier to join the VB team and to meet so many interesting and wonderful folks from all over the country and beyond.

I was born in Sweden and grew up in New York. I owned a popular Swedish cafe in midtown Manhattan for many years, and I have also worked as a litigation paralegal on Long Island. My wonderful family includes my two grown sons and my 93-year old father. I have lived in south Florida for two years now and I absolutely love it.

It is my pleasure to assist all of you, so please don’t hesitate to inquire about our amenities and events, or offer a suggestion. My wish is that everyone will feel happy and welcome in our new Clubhouse for many years to come.

Lindsey Doolittle

As the front desk receptionist, I look forward to greeting everyone with a smile. I am originally from Maine and have been a resident of Florida for 39 years.

I have many years of experience fund/friend raising, as well as customer service with the white glove treatment, and will happily

handle all of your questions and concerns. To further assist, you I can speak French and know sign language.

Please stop by to say hello. It is such a pleasure and an honor to be working in this beautiful environment. Congratulations and welcome to your extended home.

Tennis and Pickleball are alive and well at Valencia Bay. Through the months of January and February, there has been a marked increase in participation in both sports, and each week as more new residents find their way to the Racquet Center, I am sure that the growth will continue.

As our program continues to develop, all Valencia Bay Residents can look forward to more creative, fun, educational, and exciting events. A bus trip to Key Biscayne, Florida, for the Miami Open tennis tournament to watch the world’s finest men and women compete in our own backyard, is the highlight event of the year. More than fifty people will be attending. Then, on April 15, a leading tennis racquet manufacturer will be at the tennis courts for a racquet demo day. Players of all skill levels will be able to find their perfect new frame! For the pickleball players, we will host the first annual Pickleball Club Championships on April 7. Along the fitness line, look for combined fitness and tennis classes focusing on strength training for tennis and pickleball, proper stretching before and after activity, nutrition, as well as cardio work. As the summer season approaches, there will be opportunities for all tennis and pickleball players to get involved in league play in Palm Beach County. Stay tuned for details!

Looking forward to new programs and activities, let me remind you of the regular tennis and pickleball schedule: Open pickleball play, all levels welcome, Monday and Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Beginning pickleball clinic Saturday morning 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Open tennis clinic Tuesday morning, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Open tennis round robin every Friday 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The Valencia Bay Racquet Center is a first-class facility. Stop by and see one of the true gems in your community. Get involved with your neighbors. Play tennis. Play pickleball. Roll the bocce ball. Enjoy!
