LETTERTO THEEDITOR
Klaas Mabunda, a local resident,writes: The African proverb has in therecent days within the battle for theresuscitation of the fading ANCYL,gained relevance as it says;
“It is not the size of the dog in thefight, it is the size of the fight in thedog.”
It does so triumphant to thedislocation of tact and perhapsnecessity for action or inaction, timingbeing a key role player, and thus we arecharged with a responsibility to engagein our intrinsic selves, without beingimpressionists.
The occurrence towards or betweenComrades Boy Mamabolo and FikileMbalula, is but the weakness in thecomprehension of politics and what apolitician is.
I do not remember a consistentoccurrence wherein emotions arecentres of consideration in politics, norwhen bitterness is embraced byfactuality, rather have I seen sympathybeing eroded by our inability to containour discontents.
Comrade Boy Mamabolo, I haveknown my entire political life, so iswith Comrade Fikile Mbalula, but Ialso knew that in them there arepolitical ambitions, ambitions whichwithout discipline their realization is adeep wait, and therefore insults doesnot provide a monopoly to self-importance.
Comrade Boy towards ComradeFikile, threatened the moral standing ofthe ANCYL and its reputation thereto,attracting disciplinary actions againsthimself, particularly as the attack waslevelled to Mbalula for theorganizational decision hecommunicated to the Limpopo ANCYLPGC.
The National Conference should makeamendments on the ANCYLconstitution, with regard to the use ofsocial media, and impose punishmentsfor such transgressions, so as to be ableto impose sustainable disciplinarymeasures against ill-gotten behaviours.
We are all human, we are subjected bynature to err. However, our conductshould not render us blind toremembering that the integrity of theANCYL is weakened by our utterances.
Both the NTT and the disgruntledANCYL members in Limpopo musttake kind lessons from the belowAfrican proverb as it says that;
“The man who removes a mountainbegins by carrying away small stones.”
The road ahead requires fit feet towalk on, thus the newly appointedProvincial Task Team should besupported at all material moments, inorder to ensure that the strength of theANC is not tempered with.
The continuity of wisdom is toremember to accept to be led.
David Sebelebele writes: The DAModimolle councillors vehementlychallenges the ANC run-municipalityto consider doing the honourablething, stop making the belovedModimolle municipality and itspeople a laughing stock.
Just recently and to more precise,seven days ago, this municipalityonce again did what it has both beengood at and known for, appointing tothe position with extraordinarypublic trust element an individual ofboth questionable and dubious trackrecord.
This appointment was pushedthrough regardless of fierce DAopposition thereto over and abovethe unshakable reality that suchexercise overwhelmingly defied alllogic humanly imaginable.
This person who among others hadbeen in the service and on thepayroll of the municipality for all thewrong reasons has hitherto tangiblybeen implicated in cases ofcorruption and embezzlementrunning into millions of rands whichby all standards are beyondquantification.
The overwhelming body ofevidence attesting to the afore-goingis inter alia at the disposal ofCoGHSTA.
Modimolle communities by andlarge deserve better includingimmediate suspension of thisemployee immediately above failingwhich DA in Modimolle will bedearth of any viable option exceptroping in other governmentalinstitutions, including Chapter NineInstitutions.
The fit for purpose concept must befactored into the standard againstwhich eligibility for any appointmentat municipal level is determined ifwe are indeed serious aboutsustainable quality service deliveryevery South African citizen isconstitutionally entitled to.
