PRESS RELEASE For immediate release LAUNCH OF THE FIRST MULTILINGUAL BOOK FOR CHILDREN IN CANADA The Best of All Worlds Seven multilingual stories for kids translated into English and French Toronto, September 10, 2015 - At One Press launches the book The Best of All Worlds, a project initiated by Dr. Gina Valle. Published in partnership with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, it is the first multilingual children's book of its kind in Canada. Originally, the stories in this collection were written in Arabic, Farsi, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Each one was then translated into English and French, accompanied by wonderful illustrations. These stories were selected from the Rainbow Caterpillar Multilingual Kid Lit Award. Kids and parents, At One Press is waiting for you on October 4th starting at 2pm at the Agincourt Public Library (Toronto) to enjoy multilingual storytime and book signings with the authors, illustrators and the At One Press Editor-in-chief, Gina Valle. The Best of All Worlds is a collection of seven multilingual stories written by Canadians for Canadians. “This book will enable children to develop a heightened awareness of different cultures and promote a respect for diversity”, states the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. The main focus of At One Press has always been diversity. Its founder, Dr. Valle, actively works to engage Canadians in issues related to diversity. At One Press is a division of Diversity Matters. RSVP: [email protected] About Gina Valle: Diversity trainer, speaker, author, educator, producer and director, Dr. Gina Valle is an expert in multiculturalism. She offers workshops dealing with all subjects related to diversity. She speaks several languages and holds a PhD in Teacher Education & Multicultural Studies from The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. In 2012, Dr. Valle received the Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Office of the Governor General for her significant work and commitment to Canada’s cultural diversity through her organization Diversity Matters.
