Reflections from the
Prayer Room
“I unlock the door,
walk in alone—but I never feel
alone. God is here.
At our
prayer room I can focus on my time
alone with our Lord, as I come into
his holy presence in
prayer.
Bring your family,
bring your friend,
or come alone. All are
welcome. The Father is
waiting to talk with his
children.”

Preschool News ….
At the end of our 2016-2017 school year, we like to send out a big “thank you” to everyone who has helped the ministry to young children here at Bethel Preschool.
Thank you to the dedicated teaching staff: Becky Anderson, Sue Best, Christine Fleming, and Donna Stutzman for the loving guidance, creative planning, and many extra hours they devote to the children and the classroom. It is the effort of a strong teaching team, dedicated to spreading the Gospel to young children that makes Bethel the special place it is.
A big “thank you” goes out to the Preschool Board who attends monthly board meetings, and helps organize and coordinate our fundraisers. Thank you to Kathy DeLassus our Chairman, Jennie Vana our Secretary, Melissa Wettstein our fall parent representative, Becky Moylan our spring parent representative, and board members Susan Boardman, Christie Kozlik and Donna Stutzman. We thank them for their wisdom and support in making decisions that guide the preschool. We also thank them for organizing our Fall Fest and Rummage Sale. The board worked hard on these events and helped make them successful fundraisers!
Thank you to Pastor Squires for leading us in worship during our monthly devotion times. Thank you to the Bethel Church Staff, Carol Cook, Lisa Schwarz and Chelsi Todd for the warm welcomes and your continued support of the preschool.
Thank you to all the preschool parents for their help throughout the school year: for all the playdough, for the timely return of paperwork and tuition envelopes, for volunteer help in the classroom, and at the rummage sale. We also thank them for their support and encouragement of our educational program here.
A special thank you to Karen Kozlik who helped the teachers prepare special projects. Karen dedicated many hours of her time cutting construction paper on the die cut machine. Time is a precious resource, thank you for sharing your time with us Karen!
Thank you to Becky Anderson, our hardworking Scholastic Book order coordinator. Her efforts give Bethel free books and bonus points that allow us to increase our teacher resource library.
Thank you to the Bethel Lutheran Church congregation for its support and prayers, and its continued support of the rummage sale.
But most of all, thanks be to God for His aid to us all as we seek to spread the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ to His precious little lambs.
We now look forward to next fall and the 2017-2018 school year. We have a limited amount of openings in our 2 Day, 3 Day, and Playtime classes. Please pass the word on to anyone in your neighborhood who has young children: we would love to have them join us at Bethel. We have openings for children who will be two and a half through five years old by September 1, 2017. Over the summer the best way to contact preschool staff is through email, [email protected]. Donna Stutzman will be available during the summer months for preschool tours, or to answer questions. Appointments can easily be set up through an email. We will have an additional Open House in mid to late August. Please watch the preschool website for full details, www.bethelpreschoolgurnee.org.
Thank you again and God’s Blessings as we enter the summer months.

Dear Bethel Friends, It's that time of year again! Ben, Jocelyn, my Mom (Marilyn) and I will walk again this year in a charity event to help raise donations for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. WHAT are we asking you to do? DONATE to CCFA! It is our goal this year to raise over $1,000 and make it our best year yet! WHY are we asking you to do this? Over millions of American adults and children are affected by these digestive diseases, including ME so this charity is especially close to our hearts! WHEN do we need your donation to us? No later than Saturday, June 24 HOW do you donate? 1.) Send a check made out to CCFA to our home address: 5391 Virginia Court, Gurnee, IL 60031. 2.) Go to our team link – GUTSY LADIES AND A GOOD MAN! (http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR?px=1045324&pg=personal&fr_id=6772&et=EseMlsrzOSegTXGSElnLuw&s_tafId=110410) Once on the page, click on “donate now”.
