tHe SwaLLower (ammit)The Swallower, also known, as Ammit is a female ancient Egyptian and religious demon that looks like a lion, crocodile and hippopotamus-the three largest man eating animals known to ancient Egyptians. Ammit was a creature who only ate humans after they died and lived near the ancient Egyptian underworld. In the hall of truth, Anubis, the protector of the graves who brought people into the underworld, weighed the heart of a person coming in. If the heart was not pure Ammit would eat it and the person who was undergoing judgment would not be allowed to make their way towards Osiris, the God of the afterlife and immortality. Once Ammit had swallowed the heart, the soul of the person became restless forever and this was known as “dying for the second time,” a very painful and tiring way of torture. Ammit then stood by the lake of fire and then he would spit out the hearts into the burning lake so that it could burn causing more pain to the person to whom it belonged to.

So you don’t have to worry about Ammit paying you a visit anytime soon unless of course if you’re planning on dying in the next few days or weeks or may be months. In that case please be sure to pack your bags and fill up your heart with some good deeds and pure energy. Good luck! Pragya rahman

Ireland is a country in the United Kingdom. The languages spoken in Ireland are Gaelic (Irish) and English. The money that is used there are called Euros and British Pounds. Ireland is also called Eire in Irish and is known as the Republic of Ireland, where 4.75 million people have been living since July 2013.

The place with the longest name in Ireland is called Muckanaghederdauhaulia and is in County Galway. Dublin is the capital of Ireland, it was called “Dubh Linn” which means “black pool.” The name comes from an ancient lake in the city. You can still find it. Just look for the penguins in the zoo. Surprisingly enough over 30% of people in Australia come from Ireland.

The tallest identical twins were born in Ireland in 1761, they were the Knipe brothers from Magherafelt in County Derry. The most powerful person in the world, the President of America, Barack Obama, has a connection to Ireland, as his great, great, great

Grandfather Fulmuth Kearney came from Moneygall in County Offlay to America in 1850.

Interestingly enough the world famous boxer, Muhammad Ali, also has some Irish blood in him as his great Grandfather was born in Ennis, County Clare who moved to Kentucky and married an African American woman whose son also married an African American woman, who then gave birth to Ali’s mother, Odessa Grady. She then married Cassius Clay, and Ali was born in Louisville. The first person to properly explain why the sky is blue was also Irish. His name is John Tyndall and in 1859. Ireland is also famous for St Patrick’s day which is held on March 17 each year. Pragya rahman

banSHee-waLa

Remember the Pied Piper? The banshee is only its dark version you would never want to meet. Ever. If only Maliha had known better!

The banshee is known to awaken only during the monsoons in the Tea Estates. Quite like the Pied Piper, it draws its victims by putting a spell on them with its sad, calm tune. A tune so gentle that no one can run away from its magic. It then leads them to the empty place, from where there is no coming back.

The very few who could run away lived to share the horror. The Banshee is as large as a human, white as sheet, but with very long twisted finger nails. Its eyes are a crimson red, filled with tears of blood, literally. In those eyes you could still see its thirst for your

blood. Scaly dirt covered its whole body. Behind the mess of the tangled hair around its face are its brownish pointed teeth. Probably brown from the blood it drank from its victims.

When Maliha was unpacking at the guest house, she was warned by a man, who lived there, about the Banshee. She knew. But she couldn't help but be drawn to the Banshee's tune. Halfway into the woods, Maliha came to her senses but it was too late. She ran as fast as she could but there was no end to the woods. The tune of the Banshee didn't seem to fade at all. She finally gave up in sadness and fell to the ground. As she looked helplessly at the earth she noticed a drop of blood drip. It wasn't her blood.

ugenia LavenderAsk your older sister or cousin if they heard of the “Spice Girls.” They might remember that back in the day that they were the most popular girl band and musicians around and this book we’re talking about is written by none other than “Ginger Spice” herself-

Geri Halliwell. The book is called “Ugenia Lavender” and it is about a 9-year old girl who is full of energy and loves to explore new things. She has brainwaves like thunderbolts of lightning. The book contains three stories as well as tips, big news from

Ugenia and puzzles that you can solve. Ugenia is a character in the book who loves to go on new adventures and is not scared of anything in the world; she’s always ready with her bags packed. In this book Ugenia learns what it is like to be a superstar and how this lovely illness really cures you, and does some cooking with celebrity chef Uncle Harry. Ugenia is a wise, intelligent and smart kid who will always keep you entertained and teach you a few things about the real world.

FoLd’ emYou are wise, old and strong enough to do a lot of things on your own now. It’s about time you started helping Mum and Dad around the house for a few things. Let’s start by folding clothes after our laundry’s been done.

You can take some load off Mum or Dad’s shoulders after they are done with the ironing. Perhaps you could get your Dad to do the folding on weekends, since in most households the Dad is always out to work for the rest of the week, so it’s a good time to help him out and spend some quality time with him while you’re at it.

Now let’s start with shirts. The easy way to fold them is by placing the shirt on a flat surface, face down. Start by folding in half one side of the shirt, that is the arm (vertically). Then fold the

next arm onto the shirt. Follow on by folding horizontally so that the hem of the shirt touches the neck. Now that we’re done with shirts let’s move onto trousers. For trousers, smooth the pant leg and fold half at the knees with the bottoms and the waistline touching. Bring the knees to the top, smoothly. For t-shirts you have to fold it’s sleeves back onto the main body of the shirt then fold the shirt lengthwise before rolling it up. All done? Now pat yourself on the back for doing a great job!
