THIS MONTHS “FAMILY DAY OUT”

Every month we will be giving you a more detailed description from one of the listed “Family Days Out” section.

We love to hear from our readers, if you have visited one of these parks we would like to hear from you and will include your letter in one of our future editions. Please email: [email protected]

tel. (07982) 869692 www.whatsonkent.co.uk

Today we are looking at

Farming World ~ Faversham

Farming World, set in the beautiful Kent countryside, is a wonderful, working farm park attraction and fun family day out filled with animals and activities.

At Farming World you will find hundreds of different species of animals, horses, pigs, cows, goats sheep, llamas, alpacas and more.

You can feed and feel the animals in at the park and see the baby ones.

There are lots of feathered residents including poultry, birds and fantastic birds of prey. You can come and enjoy flying displays most days.

There is an Outdoor Playground for the little ones including 2 large adventure playgrounds, special under 5’s play area, slides, swings, ladders

& sandpits all surrounded by the animals. And if the weather isn’t great, there is also a great Indoor Piglets Play Barn & soft play area with ball pools, mazes and climbing frames. This is a great feature as not many

places offer indoor play areas and with the British weather, you won’t get caught out whilst on the farm.

There are picnic areas or you can purchase food and refreshments in the park. The kids can have their face painted or create a souvenir.

All in all a fantastic day out for all the family. Please see their website for entrance fees and special events

KENT COASTLINE 27

In every edition we will be looking at one of the coastal towns along the Kent coastline, this month we are focusing on;

Ramsgate Situated in the Isle of Thanet in East Kent, Ramsgate has a lot to offer as

one of the most popular English seaside towns. The beautiful harbour took over 100 years to build and provides shelter from the storms effects.

It has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast and has provided cross channel ferries for many years from Port Ramsgate.

Ramsgate’s main industries are fishing and tourism and its top attraction is the coastline which boasts a blue flag award.

It has a population of around 40,000. Parts of Ramsgate town are conservation areas with some fine architecture.

In Ramsgate you will find plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants.

The main sandy beach is approximately 250 metres long with promenade. Sitting in a cafe along the main promenade of Ramsgate, whilst the sun is

shining could almost make you feel like you are on holiday abroad.

Whilst on the sandy beach, you can hire deck chairs, sun loungers & wind shields. There is a bouncy castle in the summer and a great little coffee hut next to the beach which makes delicious freshly ground coffee. And

don’t forget to try the delicious traditional fish and chips!

In next months edition we will be looking at Whitstable, if you would like to add anything to next months coastal town, please contact us.
