INSERT: (OVER A CLEAR BLUE SKY)

It is written... The GOD that has the majority of soulsshall walk and rule the earth.

...This the Devil seeks.

There will come a brief moment when ONE lost soul will tipthe balance.

In this brief moment, the Devil shall rise and take on God.

A battle untitled - no victor.

For the final battle will not be fought and won by a God inheaven or in hell - but on earth between two humans...

...A PRIEST and a CHILD.

ONE! Shall be victorious.

FADE OUT:

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - MORNING

Sunny clear skies.

YOUNG COUPLES Walking hand in hand.

OLDER COUPLES Sitting on benches, feeding pigeons. JOGGERSpass by them.

CHILDREN Playing, laughing.

The ground LIGHTLY RUMBLES - then stops.

Children stop playing, young couples stop, The pigeons flyoff, joggers stop.

Everyone is looking on to a bushy area of the park. Birdsscatter from shaking tree tops.

INT. KENYA, FARMING VILLAGE - DUSK

A Scatter of mud and stone-built homes.

Goats, chickens and dogs wander aimlessly. Not a human insite.

A HUMBLE stone-brick church with double wooden doors sits inthe middle of this village. Its open double wooden doors areinviting.

Africa's HARD LIFE, is all but left behind upon entering tohear the warm words of the village Priest.

The villagers are seated on old wooden benches either sideof a narrow ial. Standing before them is FATHER JOSEPH whois ending his sermon in pray.

Father Joseph is a young 25 year old African. Abandon atbirth he was brought up in a Kenyan catholic orphanage andschool.

He is of kind nature, soft spoken, warm kind harted.

Humble and modest he is a TRUE BELIEVER.

Never has he studied to be a Priest, and as such is not. Notas a Priest we know to be.. But, to the people of thisvillage, he is their Priest.

It's so been bestowed upon him by the people of the villageand the village's master, MASTER JONATHAN.

Master Jonathan, 45, owner of this vast land in which thevillagers live and work for him herding his cattle andplowing his land.

He is a good man that treats his workers / the villageswell, and has a lot of respect for Father Joseph for whom hehad this church built.

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE CHURCH - SAME

Father Joseph at the door of his church is exchanging thanks with fellow villagers leaving.

Last to leave is Master Jonathan with his wife and 2 youngdaughters.

MASTER JOHNATHANFather that was a nice sermon.Please, you must come around fortea sometime again.

MASTER JOHNATHAN'S WIFE...Its always nice to have yourcompany.

FATHER JOSEPHThank you Master Johnathan, Mam. Iwill, and God bless you.

Master Johnathan's 2 young children step forward and hug Father Joseph around his waste - he kneels down to theirhight, his arms around them he hugs them back.

MASTER JOHNATHAN'S WIFECome along girls..

CUT TO

Father Joseph walking back-in he sees little LEAH, 7 yearsold, sitting by herself on the front row bench. Her headdown, slight whimpering.

Leah had lost her parents a month ago in a shack fire.

Father Joseph comes to sit beside her taking her hand in hisin comfort.

LEAH(Sad voice)

Father I'm so alone..

I miss my parents. My aunty isdeaf.. my friends don't talk to me.

FATHER JOSEPH(His warm caring voice)

You NOT ALONE my young child. God is always there to talk too..And his a good listener.

LEAHYes Father I pray a lot.

FATHER JOSEPHPRAYING yes. But TALK TO GOD.. whenever you want to.

FATHER JOSEPH (cont'd)

like we talking right now.

See God as your best friend thatyou can talk to anytime you want. When you sad - when you happy.

You know. I talk to God all thetime. Every day and night.

He's my best friend, and he talksto me too.

LEAHHE DOES?.. He doesn't talk to me.

FATHER JOSEPHYes he does my little one. You justneed to listen. Listen with yourhart.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - MORNING (SAME)

Park goers confused looking on to the bush area of the parkthat's RUMBLING.

The rumbling STOPS - Total SILENCE. Not a bird in site.

A LOUD THUNDER CRACK is heard from the bush area, from werewe see a black circular ring SHOOT UP into the sky - forminga light gray cloud above them.

A large DARK black cloud forms amidst the grey sky.

In ASTONISHMENT, FEAR and CONFUSION, everyone is looking upto the darkening sky high above them.

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE - NIGHT

Father Joseph, a sleep in his bed is RESTLESSLY tossing andturning.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - MORNING (SAME)

From the DARK black cloud we hear faint SCREAMS and CRY'Sthat's silenced by a LOUD DEAFENING THUNDER CRACK that sendsa fine RED RIPPLE through the dark black cloud.

The now dark BLACK and RED cloud gradually clears to be nomore.

The sky now as clear blue as it was before - not a cloud insite as it starts to lightly DRIZZLE.

From where the dark cloud had cleared. A BRIGHT white lightappears, shining down a misty white light to an open grassfield of the park.

Park goers step back forming a circle around the light /grass area.

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE - EVENING (SAME)

Father Joseph restlessly tossing and turning in his bed.

FATHER JOSEPH(Mumbling in his sleep)

No.. NO.. What is happening...

God...

GOD!

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - MORNING (SAME)

A naked male Angel descends gracefully down IN the light.

His large white wings spread out as he comes to land / standon the grass area folding in his wings to cover his entirebody and face.

The white light retracts back up into the heavens leaving afaint light blue DOME to appear around the Angel.

The astonished and confused park goers having moved back arestaring at this TALL 8 foot Angel that's hugged into hislarge wings that just stands there protected by this dome.

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE - EVENING (SAME)

Father Joseph restlessly tossing and turning in his bed.

He wakes in SHOCK and cold sweat.

HE SHOUTS OUT.

FATHER JOSEPHGOD!

God.. What is this you have shownme..

(MORE)

FATHER JOSEPH (cont'd)

God... Are you there.

SPEAK TO ME GOD...

GOD?

Father Joseph crouched over his bed-side holding up hishands - turning them.

He wipes his weary eyes and again holds up his hands to thefull moon light peering his bedroom window.

FATHER JOSEPH (CON'D)GOD.

God.. I can't see?

I'M BLIND!

The full moon light BRIGHTENS through his window. Casting amoon light GLOW upon him.

GOD (O.S)Joseph, my son, I have blinded youso that you can see the truth. Onlythen can you guide others to seethe truth.

I have chosen you my son. A pathhas been laid before you.

You must go now, for you have along journey ahead.

Father Joseph sitting on the edge of his bed he slides downto come to kneeling before the moon lights upon him.

FATHER JOSEPHI.. I don't understand lord - Mydream.. VISION..

Dark clouds with cry's.. tears.. anAngel..?

God tell me that what has happenedis not as its written in the oldscript...

GOD... PLEASE NO..

GOD (O.S)(Faint - short of breath)

Be quite my son... Hear my LASTWORDS.

Joseph. I will no longer be withyou in spirit, but in FAITH only.

FATHER JOSEPHGod...?

GOD!

The bright moon light fades out to as it was.

Father Joseph. Kneeled down, bent over, his hands over hisface

FATHER JOSEPH (CONT'D)NO!!!

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE - SUNRISE

Father Joseph sitting front row of his church. His sad facestaring straight ahead.

In the back ground of the church we hear the sounds of youngchildren coming in to play.

He hears Leah's voice.

FATHER JOSEPH(Sad voice)

LEAH. Come her my child.

Leah comes running to Father Joseph giving him a loving hug.

LEAHMorning Father. Last night I ha...

FATHER JOSETH... Leah, LISTEN. Run over to Master Johnathan andtell him I must speak URGENTLY withhim.

LEAHYes father.

Leah runs out the church.

INT.KENYA, MASTER JOHNATHAN'S FARM HOUSE - MORNING (SAME)

An old van pulls up to the entrance of Master Johnathan'sfarm house.

Father Joseph stepping out the passenger door is met by thedriver, VUSA, that has come around to assist him, walkinghim up to Master Johnathan that's sitting on his frontporch.

Master Johnathan stands to greet Father Joseph.

Vusa pulls out a chair and assists Father Joseph to sit.

A confused look on Master Johnathan's face as he sits down.

MASTER JOHNATHAN(Staring at FatherJoseph)

Thank you Vusa.

Vusa walks off.

MASTER JOHNATHAN (CONT'D)Father... are you BLIND? - what hashappened?

FATHER JOSEPHYes Master, I awoke blind. ITS GODS WILL

Master I must go to New York..HASTILY..

MASTER JOHNATHANNew York. AMERICA?

WAIT. STOP! God blinded you?

NO, I'll take you into town to gosee Doctor Mbeki and he...

FATHER JOSEPH...MASTER. I'm not medically blind.Please believe what I tell you.

God has SUMMAND me to go to thisland. TO SEE the truth to theVISION he has given me.

MASTER JOHNATHANVISION? The truth to what..?

SEE? You blind!

(Scared / nerves)Joseph you scaring me.... Whatsgoing on.

FATHER JOSEPHMaster. I cant explain.. what youwould not understand.

Now will you help me?

MASTER JOHNATHANFather you know I respect your DEEPFAITH. You say God speaks to youand all..

You've come to me before with oneof your VISIONS. Which did nothappen!

FATHER JOSEPHPLEASE, Master you must believe me!

MASTER JOHNATHANFather, You know where YOU comefrom.. YOUR BLOOD LINE!

SUNGORMA Evil witchery.

Its why your mother left you at thechurch doors. She knew thevillagers would kill you along withher.

As they did her mother. BURNT onthe stake!

FATHER JOSEPHMaster. I am a GOD fearing man.

Their EVIL blood does not run in myvains.

MASTER JOHNATHANYet they too had VISIONS... BAD EVIL ONES!

Now let me take you to go see thedoctor.

FATHER JOSEPH(Upset - Loud voice)

VUSA!

VUSA!

Vusa comes running up.

VUSAYes Father.

(He looks at MasterJohnathan))

MASTER?

FATHER JOSEPHHelp me up.

Take me home.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - DAY.

INSET: 2 DAYS LATER.

Police have put up barricades and surround the Angels domefrom news broadcasting channels - curious bystanders -religion groups - activists and the like displaying banners;

* THE SON OF GOD SHALL RETURN.

* THE END IS HERE.

* OUR SAVIOUR COMES FOR US.

* AN ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN.

A small group of RELIGION FREAKS standing near thebarricades start getting rowdy to police officer's that arecordoning-off the dome.

A tussle erupts between them.

A YOUNG MAN from the religious group takes a gap, shoutingout as he runs into the dome.

YOUNG MANJESUS LOVES ME.

GOD IS DIVINE.

Having entered the dome the angel ever so faintly protrudeshis face out from behind his wing to LOOK at him.

The young man LOOKS the angel in his EYES and collapses.

11.

Lying on the ground disorientated he staggers to his feet -hands held before his face - senselessly stumbling around.

YOUNG MANI.. I cant see. I'M BLIND...

Whats happened..

WHY CANT I SEE.

We see the Angel exhale a deep blow at him - sending himrolling out the dome, where he continues stumbling aroundblind.

EXT. AFRICA, HARBOR - DAY

Vusa's old van pulls up before a LARGE cargo ship.

Vusa assist Father Joseph out the van and walks him to thestair-case of the cargo ship where the ships captain,RONALD, is standing waiting.

RONALDVUSA.. Right?

VUSAYes sir.

RONALDAnd you must be the STUBBORNPriest.. Father Joseph.

Father Joseph extends his arm. Ronald shakes his hand.

FATHER JOSEPHPleased to meet you captain, andthank you..

RONALDThank me.. NO.

Me and Johnathan go far back.. AndI owed him one.

Right then. Come along stow-away..Its off to New York we go.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - DAY.

Clear sunny day. A group of Nuns with young catholic schoolgirls walking past the Angel dome they come to a stand,looking on.

Of the young girls, is MAY. A pretty dark hair, slim 14 yearold orphan raised by these Nun's of the CATHOLIC HOME FORYOUNG GIRLS.

She was born a mute.

The Nun's and young girls are bowing their heads in pray.

NOT May. She is staring at the Angel - almost HYPNOTIC.

Heads bowed down, May is not seen walking off towards thedome.

May having walked up to the police barricade, a policeOFFICER steps forward.

OFFICER Young girl please step back.. goback to the Nun's.

May still STARING at the Angel (hypnotically) carry's onwalking. The officer steps into her path.

FADE TO

INT. CARGO SHIP - (SAME).

Father Joseph, sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor, ina very small room. He is restlessly tossing and turning inhis sleep, mumbling.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - (SAME)

OFFICER (CONT'D)Young girl I'll not ask you again.

We see the Angel look-up - revealing his face from beentucked-in his wings.

On-lookers gasp as they point to the Angel. The policeofficer, and all other officers turn to look at the Angel.

With this distraction, May walks on around, past theofficer.

13.

May now at the edge of the dome. Every ones attention is nowon May.

A Nun calls out in shock.

NUNMAY! COME BACK HERE!

The police officer to afraid to approach the dome, or May.He shouts out.

OFFICER DONT ENTER.. YOU'LL BE BLINDED!

Onlookers amazed as May walks into - through the dome,UNHARMED.

The Angel slightly spreads out ONE WING.

May approaches the Angel, who with his wing pulls /tucks herin to him closing his wing to entirely COVERING her.

The Angel tucks his head back in - assuming his past pose.

FADE TO

INT. CARGO SHIP - (SAME).

Father Joseph wakes in cold sweat. Sits up.

FATHER JOSEPHNo..

GOD.

What am I to do..?

God, I am but a man of flesh andbone, made in your image... To takeon such EVIL POWER.

JESUS... Where are you?

Jesus...

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - (SAME).

Onlookers are silent - amazed - trying to comprehend to whatthey just sore. Some go down on their knees in pray.

We see the dome slightly darken and thicken. As if inDEFENCE.

14.

One of the Nun's running after May runs into the dome that"sparks" and bolts her back. Lying - disorientated on theground - crying.

NUNI cant see...

HELP ME.. Someone..

I'M BLIND!

Amongst the on lookers, a YOUNG MAN shouts out.

YOUNG MANIT MUST BE DESTROYED!

Its the DEVILS ANGEL!

Its the DEVILS DOING!

Nearby, an elder man wearing a PRIEST COLLAR walks up to theyoung man.

PRIEST(Some what angered)

GOD has sent down an Angel to earthand you call it EVIL.

This is GODS WORK here young man.

YOUNG MAN A wolf in sheep's skin..

A Nun is now blind. You call thatGod's work.

And the child..?

You going to tell me God works inmysteries ways.

PRIESTYes the Nun should have knownbetter..

Mysteries ways, yes, but we dontquestion Gods ways.

YOUNG MANQUESTION! You say we not toquestion Gods way.

Yet God gave us FREE WILL.

PRIESTThere is as good and evil on earthas there is a GOD ABOVE - there isa DEVIL BELOW.

The Devil can not walk this earth.ONLY GOD and his descendants can.

An ANGEL has descended.

THIS IS GODS WORK.

The young man backs-off in defeat and walks away.

The Priest turns his attention to the crowd of onlookers.

PRIEST (Loud voice)

IN GOD WE TRUST!

What have we witnessed?

A young girl chosen.. summoned byGod, to be accepted by the Angel.

The child was with the Nun's. Anorphan no doubt.

No harm shall come to a child ofGod.

God is at work here.

The crowd are at eez accepting the words spoken by thePriest. Many are down on their knees in silent pray.

INT. CNN NEWS STUDIO.

A paused scene of the young man and Priest in Central Parkis seen on a large screen behind the news ANKERMAN.

Opposite sides of him is seated a Priest, FATHER SETH, headof the Catholic church of America.

And STEVEN BAYLE, professor of ancient literature and awardnovelist of; The Battle of The Gods.

ANKERMANFather Seth. I'd like to start withyou.

Here we sore just 2 men indifference to the events in the skythat lead to the arrival of an

ANKERMAN (cont'd)Angel on earth.

The world at large is in difference- confused - questioning.

FATHER SETHQUESTIONING? As the young man fromthe park put it. God gave us freewill.

A true christian will not be indifference, confused or questionhis/her faith.

STEVENFather, I'm a christian man with awife and 3 children.

We go to church every Sunday, I saymy prays and follow in Gods path.

I have never questioned theexistence of God - TILL NOW.

Am I now no longer a Christian?

FATHER SETHYou QUESTION GOD'S existence!

Then, NO!

STEVENNO!

So YOU decide whether I'm aChristian or not.

Not God.. BUT YOU!

FATHER SETHNO! It's not like that...

STEVEN... Then how is it?

FATHER SETHGOD DECIDES...

STEVEN... And he RIGHT NOW just decided,and asked you to pass on themessage to me.

FATHER SETHNO. You have to believe in God.

STEVENFather. I never said I DONT beleivein God.

I said I question his existence.

Dont mean I dont believe in hisword, the bible, Jesus, heaven andinternal life.

To opposite sides. Just as Ibelieve and fear the Devil andhell.

FATHER SETHYou insinuating GOD IS DEAD?

STEVENWELL...

The earth shook..

A black ring RISES to heaven..

Black cloud BLEEDING RED..

Thunder, screams, cry's and HEAVENSTEARS..

FATHER SETHA white LIGHT..

An Angel COMING DOWN..

The sun rises each day to a clearsky...

No churches burning under darkclouds...

No demons walking the earth - nohell on earth.

The Bible tells us.. Know not whatyou SEE - but what you BELIEVE.

FATHER SETH (cont'd)

Know that I am the son of God andevery man that follows in hisshadow will seat by him in Godstemple.

Are you so blind to the TRUTHbefore you.

STEVENIts that very TRUTH before me thatscares me.

EXT. NEW YORK, HARBOR - DUSK

Father Joseph, suitcase in hand, assisted by a CREW MEMBERwalking down the rusty stair case of the cargo ship to anearby parked taxi cab where he is assisted into the backseat.

The crew member comes around to the taxi drivers window andgives him some dollars.

CREW MEMBERChurch of Christ, West and 24th,opposite central park.

The taxi drive nods and drives off.

The taxi driver adjusts his rear view mirror, viewing FatherJoseph fumbling Kenyan money notes and putting it in hispocked.

TAXI DRIVERNever seen that money before..

FATHER JOSEPH Kenya.

TAXI DRIVER(Sinister look in hiseyes)

Worth much?

FATHER JOSEPH Hope so..

After some drive, the taxi pulls over opposite the church,park side, near bushy trees.

The taxi driver steps out going to the back passenger doorhe assists Father Joseph out and walks him into the park -isolated bushy part of the park.

FATHER JOSEPH (Is uneasy)

Where are you take...?

TAXI DRIVER..WELCOME TO AMERICA.

FATHER JOSEPH Welco...

We see Father Joseph hit the ground hard. Blood runs from acut above his eye.

The taxi driver then kicks him in the ribs.. and again.

Father Joseph lying on the ground half conscious and inpain.

The taxi driver takes the money out of Father Joseph'spocked.

He grabs his arm to take off his wrist watch.

Father Joseph fights back.

He hears the CLICK of a pen-knife open, then feels the bladeslice his forearm.

Father Joseph, with one hand he gets a grip of the man'shair behind his neck.

Brushing his other hand around on the ground he feels andpicks up a rock.

His one hand still griping his hair - he knows where tostrick the rock. He swings the rock, hitting him on the sideof his temple.

Father Joseph turn his lifeless body off him and kneels overhim, his one hand griping his throat, his other holding therock above his head. He KNOWS the man is DEAD.

Father Joseph has RAGE written all over him.. Sheer EVIL inhis eyes.

With a VIOLENT swing of the rock he hits him across the headthat smashes open. He feels the blood spray his face..

Another VIOLENT swing.. Another swing.. Another.

20.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - NEXT MORNING 04H00

Father Joseph lying on the grass under a bush, his hugginghimself in an attempt to keep himself warm from the earlymorning nip.

He senses the faint breeze from a nearby fire.

Not to far are 4 homeless park hobos (Males, 50's, 2 whiteand 2 blacks) standing around a fire that's burning in ametal drum bin.

They are sharing, passing on a bottle of some kind ofalcohol. They not drunk, just a bit TIPSY.

Father Joseph hears them talking. There tone tells him theyDRINKING.

He has not had a pleasant welcome to this foreign land andfears another beating from these voices he knows to behobos.

One of the hobos places 2 big pieces of wood into the drumthat sheds a light on Father Joseph under the bushes.

HOBO #1(To the other 3 -pointing)

Over there... A guy in the bushes.

Father Joseph hears this, and hears foot steps approachinghim.

His hands wondering around on the ground he finds what he'slooking for - a solid branch, that he waves around infrontof him like a blind man he is.

The 2 hobos that approached him now stand before him lookingat this blind man wearing a priest collar, covered insmudged blood waving the branch in defence.

Hobo # 2 gets a grip of the branch, jerks it out of his handand tosses it away.

HOBO #2Feisty one this!

Father Joseph stands to his feet - stands there, fearless.

FATHER JOSEPHIn God I trust I shall fear noevil.

Do what you will to me.

HOBO #2(To hobo #1)

He wears a preist collar.. And hetalks from the bible.

He takes a step right up to Father Joseph.

HOBO #2 (CONT'D).... For as I walk through thevalley of death I shall fear noevil.

Father sighs a relief.

The hobo #1 puts his arm around him and walks him to theirwarm fire.

HOBO #1Come along Father...

HUNGRY?.. We got some left-overleft-overs.

Standing over the warm fire, Father Joseph takes off historn jacket to wipe the blood off his face, then tosses itinto the fire.

The hobo's somewhat afraid, dont both asking him questions.

Hobo #1 picks up a plastic water container.

HOBO #1Father, hold out your hands.

Water.

FADE TO:

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK - MORNING SUNRISE 07H00 (SAME)

Father Joseph standing around the fire drum that's now justsmoldering.

The 4 hobos are no where to be seen - they've left for thestreets.

From the bushes where father Joseph stands, we see downbelow in the clearing of the park, early morning joggers anddog walkers.

A parks employer, a cleaner, black man, 50's, wearing aparks department neon green jumper.

He stands looking up to this man, father Joseph, that's juststanding there.

FADE TO:

The sun is high noon.

Park goers wondering around.

The cleaner making his rounds, stops to see this man STILLSTANDING there on the hill - he has not moved?

FADE TO:

The sun setting.

Park goers wondering around.

The cleaner making his last round, is amazed to see this manSTILL STANDING?! Could he be dead on his feet?

He walks up to this man, father Joseph. Who's just standingthere.. staring ahead.

The cleaner notices the preist collar and for some reasonthat he can make no sense of.. As if a calling from above..He feels compelled to help this man.

CLEANERMR.. Are you alright?

.. Are you waiting for someone?

FATHER JOSEPH(Turns his head to thevoice)

Yes.. YOU.

CLEANER(Taken back)

ME..?

FATHER JOSEPHI have stumbled in my path..

..I dont believe God would send meon this long journey just to end upstanding here forever.

He would surely send me a goodsamaritan.

EXT. NEW YORK, SUBURB - NEXT MORNING.

Father Joseph standing at the doorway of the home of thecleaner together with him and his wife.

Father Joseph is looking good in his washed clothing.

Parked on the side of the road is a taxi. The cleaner waveshello to him, who waves back.

CLEANERMy nephew will take you there.

You got his number... Please callhim anytime you need a ride.

FATHER JOSEPHAgain.. thank you.

Your good deeds.. God shall rewardyou.

CLEANERHe has.. I MET YOU.

The taxi driver walks Father Joseph to his taxi.

EXT. NEW YORK, CENTRAL PARK, ANGEL DOME - AFTERNOON (SAME)

Amongst the many people sitting / standing around the dome,stands Father Joseph with the taxi driver, PATRICK.

Nearby are the Nuns of the Catholic home for young girls.

Father Joseph is uneasy - he senses evil.

A dolphin swims up fast - jumps out the water to touch herhand. Then another dolphin.

Standing near Holly, to her side, is a LITTLE GIRL (5 Yearold). We see her let go of her mothers hand and walk towardsHolly.

Holly sees her approach through the side of eye, Holly"nervously" just stand there.

Now standing by her side the little girl stares forward asshe feels around Holly's waist, finding her arm, then herhand.

She takes her hand in hers and smiles.

lightly gently shaking her arm to free her hand.

Holly shakes her arm again - the little girl holds-on.

We see a faint tear run down Holly's check.

The mother turns and walks away.

The clouds above start to thicken and DARKEN.

Holly looks up to the darkening sky.

The crowd is uneasy.

FATHER JOSEPH(To the crowd)

THE DARK CLOUDS - DEVIL (V.O) You few here.. Keep you souls.

My duaghter has what I NEED to walkand rule this world.

Holly just stands there, head hung down.

DEVIL (CONT'D) (V.O)Its time to leave these mortals.

THEY SERVED YOU WELL.

Holly raises her head and looks up.

HOLLYThey did not SERVE ME.

DEVIL (V.O) YOU DARE SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!

The now black clouds erupt with THUNDER and LIGHTNING.

Holly drops to her knees, head bowed down.

HOLLY In Gods name. JESUS, forgive me formy sins.

Forgive me for this sin I'm aboutto commit.

I give to you my soul.. TAKE IT,that I may not return here.

The lost souls I carry I GIVE TOYOU.

Holly picks up the knife laying on the ground.

DEVIL (V.O) NO!

Knife in her hand she looks up to Father Joseph with a sadsmile.

A tear runs down her cheek. He looks at her same.

DEVIL (CONT'D) (V.O)THOSE souls ARE MINE!

Dark angry clouds crack with THUNDER and LIGHTNING.

With both hands Holly places the knife under her chest.

She looks up to the Devil.

HOLLYGO TO HELL!

She pushes the knife hard - deep into her.

She takes a deep gasp as she pulls out the knife. Stillkneeled, head hanging down - DEAD.

In the dark clouds we hear the Devil screaming in anger.

The ground starts to lightly RUMBLE.

From the dark clouds a thick BLACK RING forms that shootsdown to the ground.

The ground stops rumbling.

The dark clouds dissipate.

The sky now clear blue.

A faint white light appears around Holly.

We see millions of souls leaving her body going up toheaven.

Every one in the crowd is on their knees looking onto this.

This they know to be victory over the Devil that's no more.

The lost souls freed, the light gone, the sad look on everyones face as they look upon Holly's motion less body stillkneeled, head hung down.

Everyone now looks up to a misty white light that's appearedhigh above the sky.

FEAR sets into every one. Knowing God is dead and what hadhappened last time a white light appeared in the sky.

We hear a voice spoken from the light / sky.

JESUS (V.O)Fear not my children.

For I am the son of God, JesusChrist.

From the Devils shackles I havebeen freed by ONE.

All is now as it was.

It is written that the soul ofONE.. that carry's many, will setthe world free of evil.

A soul so dark and evil - the Devilhimself fears.

Father Joseph standing looking up to the voice.

A faint glow appears over Holly's body as we see HER SOULrise up to the light in the sky that then fades and is nomore.

From the crowd, 4 men, including the young man that wantedto stab Holly. They ever so gently pick up Holly's lifeless

The crowd bow their heads as they move aside to the mencarrying her off into the church.

INT. KENYA, VILLAGE - DAY

INSERT: A FEW YEARS ON...

Father Joseph sitting front row of his church, hispeacefully reading his Bible.

Children running around, playing, laughing in the background / in the church.

HOPE (7 years old) comes running up to him, sits by his sideand gives him a hug around his waist.

She looks up at him with a sad smile.

HOPEDADDY.. Is God really dead?

He looks down at her with a warm smile.
