ARMSTRONG TO BLACKBURN ESPLANADE$1,000,000
One mile of soft surface will be constructed from Armstrong to Blackburn, which will allow for pedestrians and runners to have a designated path free from bicyclists and rollerbladers. Beautiful plants and trees will be added along the way, creating a lovely, natural environment for people to enjoy as they stroll along the Katy Trail. Two stretches of the esplanade, from Knox to Fitzhugh, or Fitzhugh to Blackburn, may be named for $500,000.
THE CAMBRICK ENTRANCE$500,000
Completed in 2018, The Cambrick Entrance is a beautifully landscaped entrance plaza which accommodates those entering the Katy Trail from Uptown. This ADA-compliant entrance features a curved seating wall and two pathways that lead to the Trail going north and south. The entrance may be further customized for the naming donor.
FITZHUGH AND LEMMON BRIDGES$650,000 (Each)
To accommodate the new one mile of soft surface path, new bridges parallel to the existing bridges will be installed at Fitzhugh and Lemmon Avenues. The expanded bridges will allow for pedestrians and runners to be safely separated from those on wheels.
FITZHUGH STAIR ENTRANCE $250,000
The Fitzhugh stair entrance will be constructed on the southwest corner of the Katy Trail leading up from Fitzhugh Avenue. This new entrance will offer easy access to those Trail users coming from the west side of the Trail from Turtle Creek and the Park Cities.
RECOGNITION SIGNAGE$10,000
Donors to the campaign at the $10,000 level and above will be recognized on an artistically designed plaque, which will be prominently displayed on the Katy Trail at the completion of construction.
