WELCOME & REGISTRATION
CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP “Risen Indeed!” J. Martin, arr. Jill Tabata
HYMN “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today” No. 367 (Verses 1 & 3)
EASTER LITANY: L: On this glorious Easter Day, we have come to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, Jesus is Lord of all the earth; He is the King of creation! L: On this most holy of days, the One whom people thought to destroy has risen triumphant from the tomb. My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, Jesus has died and is risen! L: On this holy day, we celebrate our new life in the risen Christ. Through the death of Jesus, the weight of our sin has been lifted from us; through His glorious resurrection, we have become sons and daughters of God. My sisters and brothers, let us rejoice: Alleluia! P: Alleluia, come, let us praise the living God! L: Let us now pray together the prayer our Lord taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION POSTLUDE “Hallelujah Chorus” Handel 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18-24 (NIV)
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’ Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

Announcements for April 1, 2018
FREE ORPHEUS MALE CHORUS TICKETS
There are free tickets to the Orpheus Male Chorus concert for Sunday, April 29, at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be at the American Lutheran Church located at 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City. If you would like tickets for yourself and family, stop by the office during the week. They will be distributed on a first come-first served basis.
SUNDAY SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY
We are in need of some help for our Sunday School classrooms (K-2nd graders; 3rd-5th graders) during both the 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. classrooms. Pastor Kerri delivers the message in Zieske Hall to begin each class. Then, teachers walk the children to the classrooms where activities are set up and ready to go. There are youth to assist teachers as well. It is minimal work and maximum blessing! Please consider this imperative ministry to our children. If you would like to help, please contact Pastor Kerri.
COME JOIN US ON A WEEK OF LOCAL MISSION WORK
APRIL 9th
TO 13th
, 2018 – 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
All adults are invited to sign up in the breezeway for this mission week. The Mission Committee has offered a different work site each day including Homeward Bound, Homeless Youth Connection, New Life Center, St. Mary’s Food Bank and Feed My Starving Children (times will vary a bit based on location and travel). We will start each morning with a time of prayer and blessing with one of the pastors and then will car pool from church to serve at one of the sites above. Upon returning to church, lunch will be shared along with a time of fellowship. For questions please email [email protected] or contact the church at (623) 935-3411.

PULSE AND IGNITE YOUTH GROUPS
Pulse and Ignite Youth Groups will resume next Sunday, April 8. Deposits are also due on Sunday, April 8, for summer mission trips. Please see Pastor Kerri if you have any questions. Enjoy your Easter celebrations this evening!
DEEP DIVE
Pulse youth group (grades 9th—12th) is invited to Deep Dive at the home of Joe & Carrie Bemis on Monday, April 16, from 5:00—6:30 p.m. This time together will include dinner, Bible study, and discussion. This is a great way to dig deeper into the Bible. Contact Pastor Kerri or the church office for more information or address.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES
Wednesday night children’s activities are continuing with 4C children’s choirs as well as our God’s Own Kids program. The menu for the 6:00 p.m. dinner is hot ham and cheese hoagies, salad, and dessert.
BIBLE STUDY The adult Bible study will resume Tuesday, April 3, at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, April 4, at 6:45 p.m. in Souers Hall. This five-week series, Letters to the Early Church, will conclude the 2017—2018 adult education season. The hope is to begin by exploring what Jesus meant when he said, “Upon this rock I will build my church,” before turning to the letters John wrote from prison to the churches in Ephesus, Pergamum, Sardis, and Laodicea. Each week consideration will be given to the cultural context within which God acted and spoke, as well as the perception of the people with whom God communicated. In preparation for our time together the first week, please read Matthew 16:13-18, Acts 4:10-11, and 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. Images of the sites and scriptures passages we are discussing will be projected, but please bring something to write with and a Bible if possible.

THANK YOU
Thank you to the many who helped with our community Easter Egg Hunt. It was a great outpouring of God’s love! May you be blessed in the ways you have blessed others!
CHRONIC ILLNESS AND CAREGIVER’S SUPPORT GROUPS
Sunday, April 8, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Chronic Illness and Caregiver’s Support Groups will both meet. The Chronic Illness Peer Support Group meets in the Fireside Room North with Richard Wilharm & Pastor Lynne, who hope to provide an opportunity and the space for people living with a long-term illness to get together and share stories and experiences, while giving each other empathetic, emotional, and practical help. The Caregiver Support Group meets in Classroom 3 with Kathy Bilak & Marcy Clement who hope to teach and encourage self-care, as well as provide a forum of support and understanding from others facing similar situations.
MEN’S FELLOWSHIP
Men’s Fellowship will be meeting at 7:00 a.m. in Souers Hall on Saturday, April 7. The purpose of the group is to grow closer to God and each other so that we may be used to do God’s will. The meeting will include a delicious breakfast and fellowship. So that we may provide adequate food, we are asking that you email to [email protected] or contact the church at (623) 935-3411.
W.C.S.F. THRIFT SHOP
The Women’s Christian Service Fellowship (W.C.S.F) Thrift Shop will be open for business on Saturday, April 7, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with a donation day on Friday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please feel free to contact Amber Gilbert, Amanda Clough, or Julie Ezell at [email protected] or call the church at (623) 935-3411 if you have questions or need to make donation arrangements.
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS
Personal care items are needed for the New Life Center towel project as well as blessing bags. When you travel, please collect them. There is a box in the church office for this project. We can especially use the smaller sizes of shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion and soap. If you have questions, please contact the church office at (623) 935-3411.
10
LADIES WHO LUNCH
April 10, at 12:30 p.m., Ladies Who Lunch will meet at Verrado Grille, 4242 N. Golf Dr., Buckeye. Contact Suzanne Boyer or Joan Cappel at [email protected] with any questions or call the church office at (623) 935-3411. All women are welcome.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted and prayed over. They are given to people in need to remind them of God’s everlasting love and compassion. We are in need of adult sized shawls, approximately 18 to 20 inches deep and long enough to wrap around the recipient. We have a good supply of yarn to make the shawls and are looking for more volunteers to make them. If you knit or crochet and would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Nancy Montgomery at [email protected] or contact the church office at (623) 935-3411. This is a rewarding ministry and such a blessing knowing the shawls bring comfort and peace from our church family.
PRAYER CHAIN
Did you know that The Church at Litchfield Park has a prayer chain? When there are prayer requests, the office emails the requests out or calls through a phone tree. If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact the church office at (623) 935-3411 or [email protected] with the method you wish to receive.
LIFE INVENTORY SHEETS
Our Christian faith assures us that death leads to eternal life with God. Meanwhile, family members, friends, and the pastors are sometimes in need of certain information that if available, could help them deal more appropriately with the grief and death of a loved one. The church office has Life Inventory Sheets that can assist your family during that time. If you would like a form to fill out, please contact the office at (623) 935-3411 or [email protected].
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WELCOME BOOTH
The Welcome Booth in the breezeway outside Souers Hall needs volunteers to help greet people who come to our church for the first time and to say hello to all in the breezeway. No experience is necessary. All you need to do is smile and say “Welcome to our church.” Volunteers help at the booth from 8:30–9:10 a.m. and then again from 10:15–10:40 a.m. This is an excellent way to meet new people and make many acquaintances. It is a perfect volunteer opportunity for anyone. If you would like to help, please contact Nana Hamlin at [email protected] or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
