• Women’s movement for equality
Equal Rights Amendment - ERA
• Demanded equal opportunity for jobs and education for women
• Ratified in 1972, but had not passed by 1982, so it never became law.
• Even though it FAILED, brought attention to women’s rights issues

• Created by NOW• Women deserve to be paid the same amount
of money as a man if they do the same job

• Title IX (9) – requires colleges to have women’s sports programs
• Encourages professional competition (like the WNBA)
Cesar Chavez

union. • Led to higher pay and benefits for Mexican

fight inequality.
