Christmas in the Collaborative
Christmas Eve
St. Ann's St. Brendan's 4.00 PM 4.00 PM Midnight 7.00 PM
Christmas Day St. Ann's St. Brendan's 10.30 AM 10.00 AM
Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
In a few days’ time, Christians the world over will gather to celebrate God’s gift of true and abiding love on Christmas day. As we prepare to enter into the season of Christmas, we approach the manger scene with great hope in the promise of the Word made flesh – Christ our Savior.
Jesus is the true light that has dispelled the darkness of sin and death. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, reminds us so beautifully: “We want the light of Christ to be in us. A Christmas without light isn't Christ-mas. So let there be light in our souls, in our hearts; let there be our forgiveness for others; and let there not be hatred, for this is darkness. Let there be the light of Jesus, which is so beautiful.” As the Light of Christ beckons us to celebrate Christmas, I wish to make a special request of you as you attend Christmas Mass here in our Collaborative of St. Ann and St. Brendan: Please remember the good works of your priests who have served you over the years in your prayers and by contributing generously to this year’s Christmas collection. This traditional collection is given solely to support the health and re-tirement needs of the fine priests of the Archdiocese of Boston. As always, the need is great. Please know of my sincere gratitude and that of Father Fiorillo for your kind and generous remembrance of your priests this Christmas. I look forward to welcoming you and the many that will come to our churches this Christmas. May this season of great hope touch your hearts and confirm in you the peace and love of the Divine Messiah. Please know of my prayers for you and those you hold dear in the Christmastide. In His peace, Father Michael E. Drea
Pastor
Please Note during the Christmas Holiday… There will be no confessions heard on Christmas Eve, December 24th. Please be sure to celebrate the Sac-rament of Reconciliation on Wednesday, December 21st from 6.30 to 8.00 PM at St. Ann’s.
On St. Stephen’s Day, Monday, December 26th, Daily Mass will NOT be celebrated and the Parish Col-
laborative Office will be closed – Daily Mass and regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, December
27th.

A Reflection on Christmas from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
At Christmas the joyful announcement of
the birth of the Redeemer resounds in all
parts of the globe: The hoped-for Messiah
was made man and dwelt among us.
With his luminous presence, Jesus has dis-
sipated the shadows of error and sin and
has brought to humanity the joy of divine
blind love, of which the Christmas tree is a
sign and a reminder.
The Christmas tree is an invitation to re-
ceive in one’s heart the gift of the joy,
peace and love of Jesus.
To believe in Christ means to let yourself
be encompassed by the light of his truth
that gives full meaning, value and sense to
our existence, given that precisely to reveal
to us the mystery of his Father and of his
love, he also reveals man fully to himself
and shows to him his lofty vocation.
