Its more to entertain then to inform. They usually don’t contain any important information that would come in handy, but different facts that are interesting to read.

What is hard news?They’re factual and aim to inform. The hard news contain up-to-date information, so news that come in from today and not from 2 weeks ago. These types of news consist of important facts that should be heard to inform everyone on what’s happening to the world of now.
