Scholarships Available

The LHS “Common App” Scholarship

forms are now available online, and in the

counseling office. The Common Application is a “one

stop” shopping form for a great many local/community

scholarships. Firm deadline for submissions is April

22, 2016. (Do not wait until the last minute!)

Metamora Area Youth Development

Association Scholarship

Graduating senior must demonstrate involvement in

business world, or related area, have affiliation with

Metamora Area, and be enrolled for fall 1016 in

college, university or trade school. Minimum GPA of

2.5, and essay required. Deadline is April 20th. Info in

counseling office.

Oddfellows Lapeer Lodge #94

Scholarship

Applicants shall be of good character, show good

citizenship by participating in school and community

acitivities, and show the principles of friendship, truth,

and brotherly love. Minimum GPA of 2.7, admittance

to college or tech/vocational school. Applications are

available in counseling; must be postmarked by

April 21, 2016.

The Lapeer County Chapter of Michigan

association of Retired School Personnel

(MARSP) Scholarship One $750 scholarship to student who has at least

2.75 GPA, graduates from Lapeer, Imlay City, Almont,

Dryden, Lapeer Community, North Branch, Venture or

Quest. Personal statement required. Deadline is April

25, 2016. Info in counseling office.

ZF Chassis Components Scholarship

ZF Chassis Components will award $1000 renewable

for four years to a graduating senior who is pursuing a

degree in engineering, computer-related field, or

business. Minimum 3.3GPA, two essays required.

Deadline April 27th, 2016. Info in counseling office.

The Bonnie & Ed LaClair Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Ed LaClair will issue a $1000

scholarship to a student who submits an essay,

resume, transcript, shows involvement in

community/school, and is accepted to an accredited

college or university. Deadline is April 29, 2016.

The Lapeer Countly EMS Association Larry

Peplinski Memorial Scholarship

The Lapeer County EMS volunteers will award one

$500 scholarship to a student seeking a career in a

health care related field for postsecondary studies.

Essay required, GPA minimum of 2.5, letter of

recommendation required. Personal interview may be

necessary. Deadline for application is April 30, 2016.

Metamora-Hadley Lodge #210

Free & Accepted Masons of Michigan Two scholarships will be awarded to students with

GPA of 2.0 or above, essay required, letters of

recommendation required. Selection will be based on

attributes of scholastic ability, need, character,

service, and leadership. Deadline is May 1st, 2016.

Lapeer Wildflowers Scholarship The Lapeer Wildflowers Club will award one $500

scholarship to a student who is pursuing studies in

Horticulture/farming. The application requires an

essay, minimum GPA of 3.0, and personal resume.

Deadline is May 1, 2016. Info in counseling office.

The Hunter Felton Memorial Scholarship Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to students

who have a minimum 2.5 GPA, participated in

athletics during school, submit recommendation

letters, and an essay. Deadline is May 20th, 2016.

Horatio Alger National Career &

Technical Scholarship Program Students who intend to pursue a career or technical

education in a community college setting, have

financial need, and have exhibited integrity and

perseverance in overcoming personal adversity,

should consider applying for these $2500
