RE: City Vista Artist in Residence Program

The CRA/City have invested over $30 million in establishing a cultural arts presence in the Cityand have since made a concentrated effort to use the cultural arts facilities for economic

development purposes. Additionally, Pompano Beach is preparing to celebrate the early 2018opening of City Vista, a mixed-use, affordable apartment building located in the heart of thedeveloping Downtown district. City Vista is the result of a public-private partnership betweenLandmark Developers, LLC & the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency( CRA);the CRA contributed the land upon which City Vista is being built.

In consideration of this contribution and to ensure and facilitate the success of this venture, the

CRA is drafting an Artist in Residence Program for qualifying City Vista residents. The Artist inResidence program is desirable given the convenient proximity to City Vista of the threedynamic cultural facilities - the Historic Ali Cultural Arts Center, the Historic BaileyContemporary Arts, and the brand new Pompano Beach Library& Cultural Center( the

Downtown Cultural Centers). The program will therefore not only facilitate the success of CityVista- it will celebrate and promote Pompano Beach' s cultural arts scene, help attract and retaintalented individuals in the developing Downtown, and provide a steady stream of volunteers toparticipate in the City' s growing cultural arts brand.

Artists who apply to live in City Vista and are accepted for residency can participate in the Artistin Residence program. Participants in the program will receive various discounts, promotion

opportunities, and special access to classes and events at the cultural centers in exchange for

volunteering at cultural- related events and promoting Pompano Beach Arts. Volunteeropportunities will be available to participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Participantsmust volunteer in order to benefit from promotion opportunities, discounts and special access toevents and classes.
