The Dutch participants were all smiles when

they took their rst look at the Olympic vil-

lage. Two athletes will share one room together,

with a bathroom attached. Weve got beautiful,

large rooms, according to speed skater Renate

Groenewold. In the Olympic village athletes

can go to different restaurants for free, have

access to the internet and even a room for

    prayer.

With the short track event starting on Satur-

day, the Dutch team isnt very pleased with

the ice condition at the Pacic Coliseum. The

ice is soft. That makes it very tough to skate,

says Sjinkie Knegt. He will participate in three

different events during the games. The only

good thing about it, is the fact that it makes it

tough for everybody. The team hopes that the

icemakers from Calgary are able to get the job

done before the short track will start.

On Wednesday night between 40.000 and

50.000 people participated in the second and

nal rehearsal for the Olympic ceremony. In a

rainy Vancouver, getting into BC Place stadium

went quite smooth, according to Canadian

    Broadcasting Corporation. Getting wet from

the rain outside was the only complain. 60.000

people are expected to attend the real Olym-

    pic ceremony tomorrow.
