Positive Behaviour for Learning The survey link for North Sydney Dem’s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is still open for parents to offer feedback. https://forms.gle/CJiCeVXfYjfBVYQm6 PBL is a comprehensive, integrated whole school approach to student wellbeing and behaviour. It is a process that supports school leadership teams to create positive learning environments that enable student learning and wellbeing. Further information can be sourced from the PBL website: https://pbl.schools.nsw.gov.au/ Thank you to all students who sent in their designs for the PBL team competition to create a school mascot! We have received an overwhelming amount of entries which the PBL team will now diligently go through to determine a winning design. Good luck team! Student Executive Elections 2020 It's an exciting time for our Year 5 students who are preparing for the upcoming Student Executive Election. They have attended weekly workshops, developed a leadership portfolio and have written a speech as part of the leadership development program. Elections will be held on Monday 25 November and Wednesday 27 November next week. The process is as follows:

• Year 5 will vote on the candidates in the preliminary round on Monday 25 November • The top 20 students receiving votes from students and teachers from the preliminary round will progress to the

final round • Years 4, 5 and 6 will vote on the 20 candidates in the final elections on Wednesday 27 November • The student executive team will be determined by a combination of their scores on their portfolios and votes

received • Students will be advised of the outcome • The successful candidates will be announced to the school and community on the last day of term, Wednesday

18 December, when we say goodbye to our outgoing Student Executive and welcome in our Executive for 2020. •

We wish all candidates the best of luck next week! Talent Fest Each year, students are invited to participate in the annual Talent Fest! Dates have been set for each grade and performances will take place during regular class time. Students are invited to perform either as a solo artist or as part of a group with friends from their year. All performances are judged by SRC representatives from another grade who will select 1x solo act and 1x group act to participate in a Talent Fest Finale on Monday 16 December. Further information will be sent home with students next week regarding their grade Talent Fest. Annie, The Musical is Here!! It is so exciting to know that Annie is just around the corner. FABStar! FABStar! is an initiative to recognise positive behaviours in the playground. A FABStar! slip was drawn from all the students who received FABstar! slips in recognition of their positive behaviour on the playground last week.

This week’s K-2 FABSTAR!s are Paul, Shawn and Kriyansh in Kindy! They found money in the playground and handed it in to the teacher on duty!

This week’s 3-6 FABSTAR! is Jason from Year 5.

He is receiving this award for demonstrating care

Friday Dec 6: End of Year Festival. Children are dancing and there will be rides and food. Thank you to the 20 parents who have already volunteered. The P&C will be raising money for those effected by the recent bushfires at the End of Year Festival. Please keep an eye out for our donation buckets at the festival stalls. If you can spare a few dollars it would be greatly appreciated by those who have lost everything.
