Divided by the

beautiful St. Andrews Bay waters the people of Panama City and Panama City Beach have two en-tirely different paces to living life in one city. The beaches are beautiful, no doubt, and people come from all over the world to see and experi-

ence our white sand beaches and emerald waters. Panama City Beach has world class tourist attractions while just across the Hathaway Bridge in Panama City resi-dents enjoy the best of small town life in a number of townships. It is a symbiotic existence with “each to their own” attitudes where feelings of pride often follow.

The country life, urban life, city

life, nightlife, and the Salt Life, it’s all a

good life here on the Emerald Coast and what isn’t offered on one side of the bridge is most likely avail-able on the other. Natural beauty, pris-tine waters combined with a relatively low population is what makes this the last stand in Florida. It is a place to cherish and remains close to many of your hearts no matter how far you may have traveled.

Those of you who are lifelong

residents and many who have lived here for years are the fortune ones. We have the opportunity to experience growth and development of this place from being a small town to a becoming a beguiling city. Together Pana-ma City and Panama City Beach is a star shining brightly on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a place of true diversity in culture with a board spectrum of activities to choose. We have all which sister cities have to offer without the dis-tance of separation.

The local music scene

gets another burst of fresh talent with a

second round of showcases from Fyrelite’s Music Produc-tions which kicks off in August. The Fyrelite Showcase gives a variety of up-coming acts the opportu-nity to perform for venue own-ers/operators in Panama City and Panama City Beach. This is a chance for local musicians and bands to get new bookings in the venue’s monthly lineup. There is no pay for participa-tion in a Fyrelite Showcase

and no cover is charged at the door. Local musicians should consider a Fyrelite Showcase more as an avenue to present their act or as a live audition.

The first in this series of show-cases is scheduled to begin 9pm

on Friday, August 10th at Beers Sports Bar & Pool Hall on Tyn-dall Parkway. To participate in this series of showcases

make plans to attend the

next event. Sign-ups for new acts are from 6:30pm to 8pm at Beers. Bring any business cards, demos, and media kits for consideration or send your materials to:

OH Boy INSPIREDHow fun! One of our fans dropped this offrecently. It is made of old car tags. You can imagine how tickled we were to receive such a nice piece of Americana folk art. Where did you see another one? Yep. Liza’s Kitchen on PCB! Same artist. What a good guy to love a good sandwich and good music.
