Engage with our students as a GroupWith an average of 6 years’ work experience, small teams of our MBA students are well placed to carry out research and deliver consultancy on a business or management issue producing clear, practical recommendations. The core group project on the Edinburgh MBA is the MBA Consultancy Project. This elective module presents an opportunity for MBA participants to develop and enhance a range of essential skills through investigating a ‘real’ business issue for an external client organisation, such as yours. You will identify an important strategic business or management issue that is then tackled intensively, over a period of 3 weeks, by a team of between 5 and 10 MBA participants who apply theoretical knowledge, industry experience and research to investigate and address the issue. Projects may cover any aspect of management and may, in principle, be located in any commercial, industrial, public sector or non-profit organisation of any size.

Engage with our students IndividuallyIndividual research projects provide you with an opportunity to commission a more in-depth study over a longer period of three months. This results in a substantial report containing extensive research, rigorous analysis and practical conclusions. Projects are often tied in with the student’s final dissertation or Capstone project and afford organisations the opportunity to identify talent from the programme that is of interest, and get to know them over a longer period of time, see how they work and ultimately, whether they are a match for your organisation in the long term.

Additionally, students following our 16-month International MBA programme are available during the summer months (June to September) to undertake an internship. Joining one of your departments, they could bring valuable expertise for 8-10 weeks, particularly in a project-oriented role.
