PREFACE
Wyrmstooth is a large quest mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This
document aims to serve as a guideline for auditions.
Wyrmstooth on Nexus Mods Wyrmstooth on Steam
Ideally you should record with a cartioid condenser microphone if you
have one. An ideal sample rate would be between 44-48,000 Hz 16-Bit
Mono, so if you can record to WAV files at this level that will definately
make my life easier.
The microphone in your laptop may not provide this quality!
Please practice your lines before recording! You may also want to try
recording the same line a couple times to play with emphasis and so on.
Audition Process: Pick a couple lines for the character you want to
audition for, record it and send it in to: [email protected].
Preferably record each line to a separate wav file. If you record to one
wav file leave a couple seconds of silence between each line.
All lines spoken by the character are marked with a bullet point. Any
player interactions are enclosed in [ ] square brackets to provide context.
Any notes specific to a line are enclosed in ( ) regular brackets.
Basically what I’m looking for in a recording is Consistency, Character
and Clarity! For example; if you suddenly switch to a different accent, I
won’t be able to use that recording in the mod. Similarily, if the character
sounds too ‘cartoony’ it won’t mesh well with the dark grittiness of
Skyrim.
Voice actors will be chosen after the due date for submissions, so check
back on the forums for details.
Please keep in mind that I am aiming for a high standard when selecting
which voices make the cut. I will also likely have new roles available in
future as the mod continues to expand.

STORYLINE
The East Empire Company commissions the Dragonborn to slay a dragon
that is interrupting trade routes throughout Skyrim. But is the dragon
stirring up trouble with a particular reason and is there something more
sinister behind it?
A new voice acted questline that takes you across Skyrim to the large
island of Wyrmstooth. Battle across new landscapes and through new
dungeons in this professionally delivered adventure.
The quest begins for players at level 10 and above after you have been
summoned by the Greybeards in the main quest line. Theodyn Bienne, an
imperial courier, will track you down starting from the Bannered Mare in
Whiterun and will deliver to you an important message. The task seems
simple enough; slay a dragon that's stirring up trouble. But things don't
go that easily...
Document Version 1.3 Page 5
DUNYICK
Gender: Male
Approximate Age: Mid 30’s.
Voice Type: Clean vocals, medium pitch.
Accent: No particular accent.
History:
A hunter injured by a group of bandits. During the attack, his trained wolf
ran away. He asks the Dragonborn to find the wolf, but dies of his injuries
before the Dragonborn returns.
Idle Lines:
Have you found Faelor yet? Please hurry. (worried)
Those damn bandits. Lives are meaningless to them. (angrily)
Please find Faelor before the hunters do.
It’s ... just a scratch. I’ll be fine. Hurry and find Faelor.
Document Version 1.3 Page 6
Quest Lines:
Please traveller, spare me a moment. I was waylayed by bandits a
short time ago. They took everything I had on me and left me in
this sorry state. (in pain)
But in the struggle they chased away my dear wolf, Faelor. Please
traveller, you have to find her. By now she could be lost, injured, or
worse.
[Dragonborn: Which direction did your wolf go?]
She headed down the hill, past the town and off towards the
mountains. I've tried calling for her, but maybe she's too scared to
return.
With these injuries I can't track her myself but she'll follow you now
that you have my scent.
Just keep an eye out for a wolf with a rust colored pelt, she
shouldn't be too hard to spot against white snow. Hurry, before
hunters catch her!
[Dragonborn: I don’t have the time for this.]
Oh well how fortunate that you have more pressing matters to
attend to. (sarcastically)
If ever you change your mind, you'll know where to find me. It's not
like I'll be going anywhere with these injuries any time soon.
[Dragonborn returns after changing his mind]
Decided to change your mind, did you?
Document Version 1.3 Page 7
VULOM
Gender: Male
Approximate Age: ??
Voice Type: Long dawn out whispers, like each word uttered requires
much effort. The voice of the Augur of Dunlain or the voice of Black Door
are good examples of what I’m looking for.
Accent: Menacing, commanding, yet somewhat wise.
History:
The Dragonborn first encounters Vulom as all but a talking skull that
merely wishes to have the rest of its body back. Once the Dragonborn
returns with Vulom’s bones, he reveals his identity and attacks the
Dragonborn.
Quest Lines:
Tell me, mortal, what is it that you seek in life? Speak.
[Dragonborn: I was merely exploring the island.]
Document Version 1.3 Page 8
Oh but you seek so much more. You seek knowledge and secrets
hidden from the eyes of others.
You seek leverage over a world bent only to return you to the dust
from which you came.
[Dragonborn: I seek riches, fame and wealth.]
As do many who strive to escape the chains of mediocrity and find
their portion of immortality. For what are we when we turn to dust?
We are but flickering embers of fading memories destined to
extinguish in a world that conspires only to fulfil our demise.
[Dragonborn: I seek power, control and dominance.]
How refreshingly sincere. It is a rare gift for one to acknowledge
and comprehend one's own desires. Rarer still are those who seek
to control it.
It is power that separates the weak from the strong and the
powerless are but pawns to the pioneers of creation and
destruction.
[Dragonborn: I have no idea.]
Oh but you do, you just do not realize it yet. Why else would you
travel so far from the world you knew and enter this long forgotten
tomb?
You seek leverage over the world around you. The power to destroy
and the power to create. Power over a world that is conspired to
your destruction.
[Dragonborn: What do you want from me?]
I have but one humble wish to simply be whole once more.
Look at me; pitiful, defeated. Those who buried me here defiled my
body by tearing my bones asunder, such that I may never rest.
Find my bones and return them to my tomb and I shall see to it
that you're rewarded for your efforts in a way that befits one such
as yourself.
[Dragonborn: I'll find your bones.]
Seek out the other nordic ruins on the island, that is likely where
the defilers have sequestered them.
Return to me once you have found them all. I will be waiting.
Document Version 1.3 Page 9
[Dragonborn: I'm not interested.]
Such a shame for one such as you, one who walks as a lion among
men yet still yearns for more.
Should you wish to lend an old withered soul your aid, know that I
shall be waiting for you here to return.
[Dragonborn: I have found your bones.]
I am most pleased with your efforts, mortal. You have returned to
me my bones and I am whole once more. (snarl/subtle laugh
towards the end)
Though the world may have changed since last I was whole, my
power shalll soon be remembered by those who still curse my
name. (suddenly imbued with power/vigor, next 2 lines the same,
maybe try not whispering but more of a ‘talking through teeth’ style
of menace)
Your reward shall be the honor of being the first. The first that shall
fall by my hands to pave the road of my dominion.
[Dragonborn: Do not think that I will fall that easily...]
Nor is it wise to presume that a lich can be so easily defeated...
Document Version 1.3 Page 10
ATHIR
Gender: Male
Approximate Age: Mid 20’s to Mid 40’s.
Voice Type: Clean vocals, medium pitch.
Accent: Slightly menacing, to emphasise his years of combat experience.
History:
A dual-wielding Redguard mercenary available for hire if the pay is good
enough. The Dragonborn encounters Athir in combat with the Foresworn.
Lurius Liore asks the Dragonborn to find Athir after a dragon starts
attacking settlements throughout the holds.
Idle Lines:
Yes?
What is it?
Hmm?
Need something?
Anything you need?
We’d best keep moving.
Document Version 1.3 Page 11
Keep your eyes out for traps.
Stay focused. We don’t know what we’ll find here.
Don’t rush too far ahead.
Recruitment Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Lurius asked me to find you.’]
Lurius? Ah yes, with the East Empire Company if I’m not mistaken.
It's been awhile and I suppose I could use the coin. So tell me,
what kind of job does he have for me this time? More bandit slaying
I'll wager.
[Dragonborn: ‘He needs us to slay a dragon.’]
A dragon? Well, that's a new one. Now why would the East Empire
company want to be involved in the dragon slaying business all of a
sudden?
Wait, let me guess. The dragon is straining trade routes in the
region and the empire needs its resources. Figures.
Whether you support the empire or the stormcloaks, a menace like
that can't be good for either side.
Alright, you can count me in. Tell me where I can find Lurius and I'll
be on my way. (pronounced: Loo-Ree-Us)
[Dragonborn: ‘Meet him at The Bannered Mare in Whiterun.’]
Alright, got it.
Conversation Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Tell me about yourself.’]
Not much to tell really. I'm a Redguard from Hammerfell. Joined the
Alik'r at an early age but left it all behind to live a life on the road.
I was in the service of the fighter's guild in Cyrodiil for a time before
crossing the border into Skyrim in search of more lucrative work.
Document Version 1.3 Page 12
The Silverblood family in Markarth are a frequent client of mine.
Seems like they have a few bones to pick with the Forsworn of the
Reach.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need to trade some things with you.’]
Weapons, hopefully. Not much use for anything else.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need your help, follow me.’]
Certainly, I’d be more than glad to lend you my services once again.
Free of charge, of course.
[Dragonborn: ‘Wait here.’]
Don’t take too long.
[Dragonborn: ‘Come with me.’]
Certainly, lead on.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need you to do something.’]
Sure, what can I do for you?
Exploration Lines:
[Approaching the mining settlement at Wyrmstooth. Smoke rises from the
distance.]
Smell that? Smoke. This doesn’t bode well.
[Entering the town, houses are ablaze.]
Gods, what a disaster. Did the dragon do all this?
[Entering the barrow after finally getting the front gate open.]
Be on guard. The dangers of this dungeon are well known among
my peers.
[Delving deeper into the dungeon.]
Better to stick together down here. Keep your eyes peeled for traps.
(slightly hushed)
Document Version 1.3 Page 13
[Approaching the nordic puzzle door.]
Look at these carvings. This place must be ancient; I doubt any of
us can read the writings on these walls.
[Entering the boss room.]
I’ve got a bad feeling about this...
[Player has to jump down a deep shaft.]
That looks deep, I certainly won’t be the first one to try my luck.
[The party enters Dimfrost stunned by a spectacular sight.]
Gods, I've never seen such a thing! Did the dwemer build all this?
They disappeared long ago, but nobody has since been able to work
out why. (pronounced: dweh-merr)
[The party approaches the Dwemer city.]
We’re getting close, I feel it. Stay focused, there may be trouble
ahead.
[The party encounters the dragon. The dragon starts collapsing the walls
around them.]
This way! Up towards the platform over there! Hurry! (shouting)
Favor Lines:
[Dragonborn: Is there anything I can do to help?]
I suppose there is something you could do for me.
You see, I've been searching for a certain blade. An hierloom of
sorts, that I'd like to get my hands on.
The last anyone knows, it had fallen into the hands of the Forsworn
of the Reach. I was hoping I'd stumble across it eventually.
If you find it, I'd much appreciate it if you would bring it back to
me. The blade's name is Embersunder.
The one place I haven't yet been to is Hag's End, south-west of
Solitude. The Forsworn there may have their hands on it.
[Dragonborn: I’ve found your sword.]
Document Version 1.3 Page 14
You have? Incredible. Hopefully the Forsworn didn’t give you too
much trouble.
Here, take this. It’s part of my portion of the bounty for killing that
dragon, but you deserve it more than I for what you’ve done.
[Dragonborn: I haven’t found your sword yet.]
I see, well if you find something let me know. I’ll have a reward
waiting for you, don’t worry.
Document Version 1.3 Page 15
SHARGAM
Gender: Male
Approximate Age: Mid 30’s to Early 50’s.
Voice Type: Rough vocals, low pitch, but not overly stylized - dialogue still
needs to be understood. Existing orc voice acting in Skyrim is a good
benchmark.
Accent: Somewhat guttoral and menacing, sarcastic to a certain extent.
Similar rhythm to Marcus from Gears of War but not as low pitched.
History:
Shargam is a tough old orc who lets his weapon do the talking for him.
Very straight forward, somewhat devoid of personality, seems almost
disgusted by everything.
Idle Lines:
Speak.
Need something?
Hmm?
Huh?
Document Version 1.3 Page 16
Be careful. I don’t want to have to drag your ugly corpse back to
town.
We’d better find something to kill ... soon.
My killin’ arm is getting ... restless.
I haven’t killed enough today. Keep talking to me and you’ll soon
make the quota.
I havent killed anything with my boots yet.
Recruitment Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Lurius asked me to find you.’]
If he has a job and the gold to back it up, count me in.
[Dragonborn: ‘He needs us to slay a dragon.’]
Dragons, monsters, hapless civilians; what ever. I’m in.
[Dragonborn: ‘Meet him at The Bannered Mare in Whiterun.’]
This had better be worth my time.
Conversation Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Tell me about yourself.’]
I’m the kind of orc that likes to kill those who ask too many
questions.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need to trade some things with you.’]
Fine, just so long as I can kill something with it.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need your help, follow me.’]
Very well, let us bathe in the blood of our enemies once more.
[Dragonborn: ‘Wait here.’]
If I must, but try to lure some enemies this way.
[Dragonborn: ‘Come with me.’]
Document Version 1.3 Page 17
Well it’s about time.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need you to do something.’]
Anything, as long as it involves killing.
Exploration Lines:
[Entering the town, houses are ablaze.]
I probably could’ve done worse. Look at all the survivors it left
behind.
[Entering the barrow after finally getting the front gate open. Athir says
‘The dangers of this dungeon are well known among my peers.’]
I thought you were kicked out of that ballet school?
[Delving deeper into the dungeon. Athir says ‘Better to stick together
down here. Keep your eyes peeled for traps’]
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your sister.
[Approaching the nordic puzzle door.]
Just get that damn puzzle door open.
[Player has to jump down a deep shaft.]
Quit whining and jump already!
[The party enters Dimfrost stunned by a spectacular sight.]
I wonder what dwemer taste like (pronounced: dweh-merr).
[The party approaches the Dwemer city.]
If anything moves; kill it.
Document Version 1.3 Page 18
Favor Lines:
[Dragonborn: Is there anything I can do to help?]
There is.
I’m working the mines here so I haven’t had time to take care of
personal problems.
Go to Markarth and find Ulfgar, he’ll be staying at the Silverblood
Inn. Once you find him, kill him.
He owes me gold and I’ve lost my patience. Give him a good swift
death.
If anyone catches you, kill them too. Kill everyone if you have to.
[Dragonborn: I’ve killed Ulfgar.]
Good. Here, a portion of my last paycheck. Use it to buy a better
weapon.
[Dragonborn: I haven’t killed Ulfgar yet.]
Let me give you a tip; you put the pointy end of your sword into
Ulfgar.
Document Version 1.3 Page 19
DAENLIT
Gender: Female
Approximate Age: Early 20’s to Mid 30’s.
Voice Type: Clean vocals, medium to low pitch.
Accent: Slightly sly/sultry sounding to emphasise somewhat deviant
qualities.
History:
An elven thief, a sneak and a bit of an assassin. The dragonborn finds
Daenlit in prison locked up in Castle Dour and breaks her out to help join
in with the dragon fight.
Idle Lines:
Yes?
What is it?
Hmm?
Need something?
Anything you need?
Shadows hide us.
Document Version 1.3 Page 20
Be careful, and watch for traps.
Keep to the shadows.
Did you hear that?
Recruitment Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Lurius asked me to find you.’]
Really? I suppose he already knows about my ... unfortunate
predicament. But that’s why he sent you, isn’t it?
I find it helps to be in favor with the empire. You never know when
you'll need friends in high places after all.
But tell me, what kind of job is Lurius commissioning this time?
Another assassination perhaps? Or something ... slightly more
interesting?
[Dragonborn: ‘He needs us to slay a dragon.’]
Well that's awfully bold of him. But I suspect he has his reasons,
not to mention the East Empire Company has a duty to ... protect
its assets.
Very well, slaying a dragon certainly beats rotting here in this
wretched place. Tell me where I can find Lurius and I'll meet him as
soon as I can.
[Dragonborn: ‘Meet him at The Bannered Mare in Whiterun.’]
The Bannered Mare? How quaint. Very well, I’ll see to it as soon as
possible.
[Dragonborn: ‘How exactly did you end up in prison?’]
It’s a long story but I’ll be brief so as to not bore you with the petty
details.
It was a moonlit night. I stumbled across an old nordic tomb and
my purse was light. I think you can guess where this is going.
Sure, I might've snatched a few trinkets here and there. The dead
don't tend to appreciate fine jewelry quite as much as the living do.
But let’s just say, grave robbing was only one reason of many for
my ... untimely imprisonment.
Document Version 1.3 Page 21
Conversation Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Tell me about yourself.’]
I grew up in Valenwood where I learned the art of the hunt. My skill
with the bow was unsurpassed among my peers.
I joined the resistance against the Thalmor but fled to Skyrim when
the conflict became too intense.
There are less riskier ways to earn a living, but it seems war follows
you wherever you go.
Now I fight whenever I need to fight and kill whenever I need to
kill. Acts of valor in a world such as ours are futile and meaningless.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need to trade some things with you.’]
Expensive things, preferably.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need your help, follow me.’]
My services are priceless and my skill is precise, I assure you. Lead
on.
[Dragonborn: ‘Wait here.’]
If you say so.
[Dragonborn: ‘Come with me.’]
Certainly, lead on.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need you to do something.’]
Well, if you can’t do it yourself...
Exploration Lines:
[Approaching the mining settlement at Wyrmstooth. Smoke rises from the
distance.]
Trouble is in the air, be careful.
[Delving deeper into the dungeon.]
Quiet. We are not alone in here.
Document Version 1.3 Page 22
[Approaching the nordic puzzle door.]
The ancient nords were certainly master craftsmen. Their work is as
skilled as their traps are deadly.
[Player has to jump down a deep shaft.]
I doubt there’s another way down.
[The party enters Dimfrost stunned by a spectacular sight.]
Some say the dwemer's disappearance is related to the Heart of
Lorkhan. But that's parly for scholars, not adventurers such as we.
Stay focused. (pronounced: dweh-merr)
[The party encounters the dragon. The dragon starts collapsing the walls
around them.]
It’s raising the dead! We need to find some place to hide! (shouting)
Favor Lines:
[Dragonborn: Is there anything I can do to help?]
There is, if you have the time.
There's a certain ... necklace I would like to get my hands on. It's
valuable, yes, but there's more to it than that.
It's enchantment ... well, I'll let you figure that one out. It's
currently in the posession of Erikur, a fool of a merchant living in
Solitude.
Find it and bring it to me and I’ll see to it that you’re properly ...
rewarded.
[Dragonborn: I’ve found your necklace.]
That you have. A dangerous thing it is for merchants to ... possess
magic such as this. Better for it to fall into more responsible hands.
Here, take this. A portion of my reward for helping you slay that
dragon.
[Dragonborn: I haven’t found your necklace yet.]
Then don’t bore me with pointless conversation.
Document Version 1.3 Page 23
ELMERA
Gender: Female
Approximate Age: Mid 20’s to Early 40’s.
Voice Type: Clean vocals, medium pitch.
Accent: British accented, snobbish/noble style.
History:
An eccentric elven mage obsessed with the dwemer (dwarves).
Emotionally charged, charismatic but ultimately an insane rambler that
manages to confuse herself. The type that burns things.
Idle Lines:
I have no idea what you could ever possibly expect to receive from
me. Donations? Never.
What do you need? You look like a beggar. What do you beggars do
with all that gold we give you?
I swallowed a fly the other day. Did you know that? Well, you do
now. Consider yourself blessed with my wisdom.
Document Version 1.3 Page 24
Have you ever visited Morrowind? Dreadful place. Tried to make ash
yam stew once. What a disaster.
Do I look slightly cross-eyed to you? I do, don’t I? I knew it.
The sooner we finish this the sooner I can get back to ... what ever
it was I was doing. I don’t quite remember, do you?
I’m worried this frigid climate will affect my tan.
I wonder if the dwemer knew anything about the dragons.
(pronounced: dweh-merr)
Did you hear something? I thought I heard something.
Recruitment Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Lurius asked me to find you.’]
He did? Better not keep him waiting. Wait ... by me you mean ...
me? Oh! Well that was easy.
So what does Lurius want now. Another back massage I’ll wager.
[Dragonborn: ‘He needs us to slay a dragon.’]
My mother died. My brother died. My uncle died. My sister died. My
husband and my wife both died. (mournfully)
The world is truely wonderful when you think about it, isn’t it?
(suddenly happy)
[Dragonborn: ‘Did ... you kill them?’]
What? Me? By Auriel’s bow, no! I’m offended that you would even
imply such a thing! Shame on you! (surprised/annoyed)
Mudcrabs killed them. Filthy little filchers, the lot of them! (sadly
reminiscent, then incredibly angry)
Never underestimate a good mudcrab. Just one could eliminate an
entire city! Be careful.
But enough about mudcrabs, tell me where I can find Lurius.
(demandingly)
[Dragonborn: ‘Meet him at The Bannered Mare in Whiterun.’]
Oh, The Bannered Mare! I once evaporated a man in Whiterun.
Claimed he was a bard but you couldn’t tell from his gods aweful
voice.
Anyway, Lurius can take care of my bounty, don’t worry.
Document Version 1.3 Page 25
Conversation Lines:
[Dragonborn: ‘Tell me about yourself.’]
You wish to learn about me? Gods, where do I even begin. I
suppose I could begin at the beginning. That's always a good place
to begin.
For awhile I trained with the College of Whispers, at least until I
accidentally turned a fellow student into a pile of ash.
It was a learning experience; for it was *I* who first discovered
that it was indeed possible to summon an atronach inside another
person!
Following that ordeal I fled to Skyrim to pursue my reseach into the
dwemer. Do you know what a thresher is? The dwemer were
ingenious.
Why, just the other day I activated one just as a bandit was
stepping over it. Talk about cleanly cut fillets! Simply marvelous.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need to trade some things with you.’]
Bandits. You’re all the same.
[Dragonborn: ‘I need your help, follow me.’]
I shall explode all who stand in our way! (gleefully)
[Dragonborn: ‘Wait here.’]
And what, I'm supposed to just stand here? Fine, have it your way.
But don't blame me if you find a stack of charred corpses when you
return.
I get bored very easily and I’m not very good at hiding things.
[Dragonborn: ‘Come with me.’]
It’s about time. (impatiently)
[Dragonborn: ‘I need you to do something.’]
Evaporation. Evisceration. Anything, you name it.
Document Version 1.3 Page 26
Favor Lines:
[Dragonborn: Is there anything I can do to help?]
I suppose you can run a petty errand for me. Such a thing is
beneath my stature.
Go and fetch me some spiddal sticks. I think 30 should do.
[Dragonborn: Where can I find spiddal sticks?]
In the Deadlands, naturally.
[Dragonborn: Where are the Deadlands?]
In Oblivion. More specifically, Mehrunes Dagon’s realm of Oblivion.
(pronounced: May-Roons Day-Gone)
I suppose ever since that whole fiasco with Martin and the
Dragonfires, travel to the Deadlands and back has been made
somewhat more difficult.
But let it be said that nothing is impossible!
[Dragonborn: I have your spiddal sticks.]
Oh? Well I suppose I don't need them anymore. If I had known it
was going to take you this long, I wouldn't have sent you in the first
place.
But fine, maybe I can make spiddal soup using these ingredients.
Here, take this. A skull I found in an old tomb, I want you to have
it. I have no idea who's skull it is, but it does look kinda shiny.
[Dragonborn: I haven’t found your spiddal sticks yet.]
Neither have I. Oh wait, I gave that task to you, didn’t I? Silly me.
