In the spirit of Sankofa (looking back to go forward) this article sheds light on the

viewpoint (worldview) of our Black Kamitic ancestors. In this way, we have a chance to see

reality as we know it to be, as opposed to what someone else tells us it is . . . .

According to our Kamitic ancestor’s, a non-enlightened person is impotent and will be led

by ignorance to sinful behavior and pain and sorrow in life.

Ignorance includes believing that life is a physical body with Spirit. An ego

personality (animal likes and dislikes), directs an ignorant person into living according

to their lower self (Khab, Khabit, Sahu and lower 1/3 of the AB, sprouting anger,

hatred, greed, jealousy, egoism, violence, etc.) and being subject to the forces of

time and space. Furthermore, ignorant people will suffer negative consequences from

their actions.

At death the ego personality dies. The soul (immaterial part of a person) continues to

exist in the astral body until another ego personality is found about to be born, in the

world of time and space. As a result, the ego personality has another chance to transform

itself from ignorance to enlightenment.

On the other hand, an enlightened person is egoless (unmoved by likes and dislikes).

He or she believes that life is mostly Spirit with a Physical body. An enlightened

person has the wisdom and experience of their higher self (upper 2/3 or the Ab,

Shekhem, Khu, and Ba) and lives life according to justice, righteousness, correctness, selflessness, harmony and peace. [3]

These are the two roads that human beings may follow, one of folly and the other of

wisdom. The path of the masses is generally the path of ignorance, which leads them into

negative situations, thoughts, and deeds. This behavior, in turn, leads to ill health and

sorrow in life. The other road, based on enlightenment leads to wellness, true happiness,

and wisdom. [27]

How is an individual transformed from ignorance to enlightenment? A fundamental

overstanding can be derived from reading and reflecting upon the following sections:

The Basic Nature of Man

Man’s True Salvation

Our Kamitic Foundations

THE BASIC NATURE OF MAN

When man is born, his basic nature (consciousness) is confined to the four lower sub

divisions of his spirit: (See the Kamitic Tree of Life Diagram, p. 14)

1.) Khab (Physical body)

2.) Khaibit (Animal senses)

3.) Sahu (Concrete intellect)

4.) Lower 1/3 of the Ab (Moral character)

As these irrational and divisive sub divisions are the only guides to her Consciousness/Will,

his behavior is subject to error. [30]

The transformation from ignorance to enlightenment (spiritual cultivation) is a process

that methodically leads man’s Consciousness from the lower to the higher parts of his

spirit. The highest part contains what man was given in God’s image - the essence of God

(Omnipresence (Ba), Omniscience (Khu), and Omnipotence (Shekhem)).

We can see that not all religions share this understanding. For some, man is essentially a

sinner - i.e. confined to his or her animal spirit and concrete intellect. They believe that

man can only be saved by the intervention of a saviour outside of himself, or can only be

kept from doing wrong by threats of a doomsday, or eternal damnation that awaits the

sinner.

MAN’S TRUE SALVATION [3]

Our ancestors practiced a system of salvation that was much different than we have been

led to believe by Western society. In the Kamitic system for salvation, the individual is

trained to become godlike while on earth and at the same time qualified for everlasting

happiness.

This is accomplished through the cultivation of the Arts and Sciences on the one hand and

a life of virtue on the other.

There was no mediator between man and his salvation, as we find in the Christian theory.

In the tradition of Kamit, Kush, and Black India, man’s salvation can only be achieved

by the elevation of his Consciousness to the higher sub divisions (upper 2/3 or the

Ab, Shekhem, Khu, and Ba subdivisions) of his spirit.

There man senses error, frees wisdom and increases his spiritual power until he can

overcome the evils of the physical world. Ignorance and impotence are the father and

mother, respectively, of all evils in the world.

Additional information about elevation of Consciousness is outlined in the following

chronicles however; the details were left for us on papyri and in Hieroglyphics on the walls

of the pyramids . . . in the world’s oldest scriptures – the Kamitic Books of Knowledge, such

as:

OUR KAMITIC FOUNDATIONS

The remainder of this chronicle was taken from the above Books of Knowledge and

highlights the following Kamitic foundations:

Melanin Actions Unconscious Impressions Spiritual Cultivation Programs The Heart Ma’at True Happiness

Melanin

Although most people believe, melanin is just a pigment that provides skin color;

recent research has shown that our bodies contain melanin from head to toe. It is

substance is responsible for life itself. It is a healer, an energy absorber, a

hormone, and an organizer of major body functions.

Browder points out, In addition to the numerous physiological influences melanin has on the

body, research now shows a definite relationship between melanin and spiritual awareness.

[21]

Page 6: The Elder's Viewpoint

Melanin is influenced by the electro-magnetic field of the earth, by light waves, and sound

vibrations. Because of its magnetic properties, people with higher concentrations of

melanin in their bodies are more in tune with nature. [21]

Browder also points out; every person on earth has varying amounts of melanin in their

body. The key is some people have more than others do. In the bodies of Africans and

African Americans, melanin is found in more sites and in greater concentrations than in any

other race of people on earth. [22]

In his classic book, Stolen Legacy, historian George James states; a study of Kamitic

history reveals the definition of the human melanin system as a Holy Black Body (HBB)

that serves as the Eye of the Soul to produce Inner Vision, true spirituality,

consciousness, creative genius, beatific vision, to become godlike, and to have conversation

with the immortals (ancestors). [20]

Dr. Richard King has written; The Eye of the Soul [pineal gland] was named the Eye of Hem

in Kamit, the Eye of Inner Vision. Inner Vision from expanded use of the Eye of Hem was

developed in the Kamitic System of Education. Students of grade 2, Intelligence, and

grade 3, Sons of Light attained Inner Vision.

The Eye of the Soul is the “inner eye” you see with when you sleep. In some traditions, this

“inner eye” is called the “third eye”, the eye of clairvoyance. Other traditions refer to

this eye as the pineal gland.

When you are sleeping, the pineal gland secretes the hormone melatonin (primarily during

the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.) which literally bathes the brain, thus creating the chemical

condition necessary for “Inner Vision” to take place. [25]

It appears that Inner Vision resulted from synthesis, or global development of the brain.

The Right Cortex (emotional, radar, intuitive emotions, etc.) was developed by control of

the passions and rising up of the intuitive emotions through intense study and practice of

the Ten Virtues and Admonitions of Maat.

The Left Cortex was developed by intense study of the laws of nature with practice of

The Seven Liberal Arts, thereby purging the mind of irrational tendencies and allowing the

student to will one’s conduct to be in rhythm with nature.

When a student had become able to use both the left and right cerebellum hemispheres of

their brain, they experienced Inner Vision.

Page 7: The Elder's Viewpoint

Kamitic students of Grade 2 (Intelligence) experienced Inner Vision through an increased

activity of the Eye of Heru, the internal midline Eye /Gland found in the middle of the

brain in between the cortical hemispheres.

Kamitic students of Grade 3, (Sons of Light), experienced a greater level of Inner Vision

that allowed an actual unity with light and the ability to have conversation with the

immortals (ancestors). On this level of Inner Vision, the student equally used both cortical

hemispheres in a manner that unified the ancient brain structures of the mid brain, brain

stem, spiral column, all glands of the body (blood, lymph, peripheral nerves, etc.) and

particularly the Holy Black Body (HBB). [23]

Actions [3]

“An action is repaid by its like, and to every action there is a consequence.”

Sage Meri-ka-Ra

Ancient Kamitic Wisdom Text

Since ancient times, the cause and effect of people’s actions have been understood.

Actions based on ignorance from the lower parts of the Spirit lead a person to frustration

and the inability to discover true joy and peace. They’re characterized by an ego

personality (passion, greed, lust, envy, hatred jealousy, anger, etc.). These actions

invariably lead to strife, violence and discontent.

Actions based on enlightenment (truth, harmony, and selflessness) lead to inner and outer

peace and contentment. This peace allows man to discover his or her higher Self.

Enlightened actions are characterized by the promotion of inner peace, social harmony and

contentment (righteousness, truth, selflessness, sharing, compassion, devotion to God,

etc.).

Unconscious Impressions [3]

Unconscious impressions are what constitute emerging thoughts, desires and aspirations in

everyone. They come to the surface of the conscious mind. These thoughts work similar to

memories. In the advice of instructions to Meri-Ka-Ra, the phrase “his actions accumulate

beside him” speaks to the unconscious impressions that are recorded in the unconscious

mind as the result of one’s actions while alive.

Page 8: The Elder's Viewpoint

The Elder’s Viewpoint

8

The accumulation of unconscious impressions is “judged” and determines where the soul

will go next in the spiritual journey of evolution or devolution; also known as “Karma” the

cycle of birth and death.

Unconscious impressions can be both positive and negative. Positive unconscious

impressions are developed by enlightened (righteous and virtuous) thoughts and actions.

These practices draw one closer to harmony and peace.

Negative impressions are developed by thoughts and actions resulting from living a life of

ignorance. They are related to mental agitation, disharmony, and restlessness. This

implies actions based on anger, fear, desire, greed, depression, gloom, etc. These actions

often stem from obstructions to your human desires. They distract the mind and do not

allow the intellect to function. Thus, existence at this level is closer to the lower sub-

divisions of the spirit, being based on animal instincts and desires (selfishness) rather

than spiritually elevated (mature) reasoning, selflessness, compassion, etc.

How does one eliminate negative unconscious impressions and develop positive impressions

instead. The answer lies in the individual’s understanding and spiritual cultivation

programs.

Spiritual Cultivation Programs

The spiritual cultivation program uses study, reflection and meditation to identify and

correct the ill conditionings and imbalances in our lower spheres of influence. Next, it uses

spiritual practices and fasting to continue moving on to the higher, dormant spheres of

influence.

A full description of spiritual practices is beyond the scope of this book; however among

them are purity, detachment and dispassion, trance, visualization, harmonization, and sound

(chants, hekau, and mantras)

Purity in breath, water, food, people, and imagination. Strive to remove toxic

substances, people or thoughts from your life. Purity in the body and mind removes

the blockages to our melanin (spiritual connection).

Detachment and dispassion towards objects and situations in life. A person’s life

experiences govern their likes and dislikes (favorites, preferences, appetites, etc.).

The problem is that obstructions to our likes and dislikes often lead to negative

(ego personality) actions. This behavior can be avoided if we eliminate favorites,

preferences, appetites, etc. by practicing detachment and dispassion.

Page 9: The Elder's Viewpoint

9

Mediumistic trance. (Meditation, hypnosis, chanting, prayer, etc.) These forms of

trance are elastic modalities (stimulus in one modality that triggers activity in

another). They work to change our state of normal waking consciousness. In an

altered state of consciousness it’s easier to program positive unconscious

impressions. Trance should reflect devotion towards reestablishing Ausar as the

dominant sphere in our lives.

Creative visualization. This simply means control your imagination; always think

positively. Don’t let your imagination control you. In trying times it is not the event

that is important, but your perception of the event.

Living in harmony with the cycles. Cycles have to do with the effect of the Sun’s

electromagnetic particles on the universe, earth, moon, and people. Sometimes the

particles speed up causing elevated temperature (heating) and sometimes they slow

down causing a loss of heat (cooling).

There are daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, 2000 year, and 26,000 year cycles. An

example of alignment with the daily cycle would be performing heating (active)

activities during the morning and day while performing cooling (passive) activities

during the evening and night.

Sound vibrations. The atoms, electrons, and molecules making up all things are in a

constant state of vibration. All vibrations generate sound waves in one medium or

another. Moreover, it can be said that sound waves underlie the structure of all

things and events.

This has been known by Kamitian scientists for thousands of years. They taught

that sphere of influence three, is the vehicle from where is generated the sound

waves that underlie (create, maintain, and destroy) the structure of all things and

events in the world. These sounds are the words of power (mantras, hekau, etc.) of

spiritual cultures. Words of power have a special relationship with the imagination

sphere of influence (the 7th sphere).

As those who work on mantras know, chanting results in the filling of the sphere of

awareness with a certain set of images that are specific to each mantra. In other

words, before these special sound waves can affect their desired objectives, they

must be translated into the images that literally serve as matrices for the physical

manifestations. [29]

When you study, reflect and live according to the wisdom teachings, your mind

undergoes a “purification of heart”. It significantly eliminates negative impressions,

which renders the mind and body pure and subtle. In that condition, positive spiritual

realization is possible.

The Heart

The Heart is a container that holds thoughts, feelings, desires, and unconscious

impressions. The heart is a metaphor of the human mind including the conscious,

subconscious, and unconscious levels. The heart is the reservoir of all your ideas,

conditions and feelings. These factors direct the path of your life. They are also the

elements that are judged on judgment day.

In summary, the heart is the sum total of your experiences, actions and aspirations that

is judged in the balance against the feather of Ma’at (Selflessness and righteousness). [3]

Ma’at

Ma’at is the personification of justice and righteousness

upon which God has created the universe. Therefore, the

Heart is measured against Ma’at. It is judged by assessing

the extent the Heart has lived in accordance with truth,

correctness, geniuses, uprightness, justice, and

steadfastness.

People who are running after worldly desires will never be

able to rest, while those who affirm Maat (righteousness

and peace) will discover the real joy of life, which cannot

come from wealth, conquests, fame, hurting others etc.

By turning one’s mind toward Maat, a human being can evolve to discover the greater,

deeper essence of our being. This is referred to what modern Christians call the

“Resurrection”.

Ma’at represents the harmony of human and divine (universal) Consciousness. It also

emphasizes selfless service and the attitude that God, who is working through you instead

of your ego personality, is performing actions. God is working through you to serve

humanity, which is essentially God. [3]

Page 11: The Elder's Viewpoint

The Elder’s Viewpoint

11

Ma’at is the 4th sphere of The Kamitic Tree of Life. She is the philosophy and Spiritual

symbol of virtue as well as a sphere of influence that pervades the entire universe. She is

the symbolic embodiment of world order (Divine laws), justice, righteousness, correctness,

selflessness, harmony and peace.

Ma’at is the way of life that the creator lives by. She is the sphere of influence within man

where the urge is to live truth (according to the laws of the Indwelling Intelligence).

Ma’at is a profound teaching in reference to cosmogony and the manner in which human

conduct should be cultivated. It refers to a deep understanding of Divinity and the manner

in which virtuous qualities can be developed in the human heart to bring the individual

closer to the Divine.

Because the supreme law governing man’s divinity is centered on his freedom to choose

(freedom of will), the knowledge of the law is conveyed to him in such a way that allows

him the freedom to follow or reject it. His following it, gives him success in his individual

undertakings, and it qualifies and prepares him for crossing the great abysm to take part

in the divine powers of the 3rd sphere and higher.

Ma’at is directly opposed by the influences from the 8th sphere (Sebek), which is the chief

provider of the arguments and rationalizations that support the emotionally motivated

behavior of personally centered way of life.

True Happiness

First, let’s answer the supposedly unknowable question, “What is happiness?” According to

our ancestors, in the words of Ra Un Nefer Amen;

Happiness is going through life from pleasure to peace, pleasure to peace. Enjoy your

mate, and be at peace if she lives or dies. Unhappiness is a life that flows from

pleasure to pain, pain to pleasure. Enjoy your mate and wallow in pain when she dies.

There is nothing you can do to prevent failure, losses, set backs, etc. But, there is

something you can do about your reaction to them. [19]

Contrary to the European viewpoint, happiness does not come from acquiring objects

or performing activities. It can only come from within. Even actions that seem to be

pleasurable in life cannot be considered as a source of happiness, because all

activities are relative, i.e. what is pleasurable for one person may be painful for

another.

Page 12: The Elder's Viewpoint

The Elder’s Viewpoint

2834 Burger Avenue Dallas, TX 75215 469.583.3275 [email protected]

12

If that is the case, we must realize that it is not the activity that holds the

happiness, but the individual doer who is performing the action and assigning a value

to it, a value that she or he has learned from society or past karmic experiences.

Therefore, if it were learned that going out to party is supposed to be fun, then that

activity will be pursued as a source of happiness. Here action is performed and the fruit

of the action is perceived as happiness; a result desired from the action.

True peace and inner fulfillment will never come through pursuit of actions when there is

an expectation or desire for the fruits of those actions. The belief in objects or worldly

activities as a source of happiness is therefore seen as a state of ignorance where the

individual is caught up in illusions, fantasies and fanciful notions of the mind. However,

happiness and peace can arise spontaneously when there is an attitude of detachment and

dispassion towards objects and situations in life.

Moreover, the relentless pursuit of the action renders the mind restless and agitated.

Secondly, if the activity is not possible, there will be depression in the mind. Thirdly, if

the activity is disturbed by some outside force, meaning that something or someone

prevented you from achieving the object or activity you saw as the “source of happiness”,

you develop anger towards it.

If you succeed in achieving the object or activity, you become elated. This most likely will

lead to greed in the mind and you’ll want more and more of it. When you’re not able to get

more, at any particular time, you’ll become depressed and disappointed. Therefore, under

these conditions, a constant dependence (addiction) on outside activities and worldly

objects develops in the mind and won’t allow peace and contentment.

Although it is illogical to pursue activities that cause pain in life, people are constantly

acting against their own interests as they engage in actions in an effort to gain happiness.

In reality, they are enhancing the probability of encountering pain later. People often act

and shortly thereafter, regret what they have done. Sometimes people know even at the

time of their actions that they are wrong, and yet they are unable to stop themselves.

This is because when desires and expectations control the mind, the intellect, the light of

reason, is clouded and dull. On the other hand, when the mind is controlled by the

intellect, then it is not possible for the fantasies and illusions of the mind to lead one

astray. When the individual is guided by their purified intellect, only right actions can be

performed no matter what negative ideas arise in the mind. Such a person cannot be

Page 13: The Elder's Viewpoint

13

deceived into negative actions (actions that lead to future pain and disappointments) and

when negative actions are not performed, happiness can exist.

Thus, a person who lives according to the teachings of non-doer ship (perform actions

without desires or expectations for the future results of their actions) lives a life of

perpetual peace and happiness in the present.

If actions are performed selflessly with the idea of discovering peace within, based

on the understanding of the philosophy outlined above, and for the sake of the

betterment of society, then these actions will have the effect of purifying the heart

of the individual.

The desires and expectations will dwindle while the inner fulfillment and awareness of the

present moment will increase. There will be greater and greater discovery of peace within,

a discovery of what is truly stable and changeless within as opposed to the mind and outer

world that are constantly changing and unpredictable. [3]

The forgoing views of life, as expressed by our Kamitic ancestors, are nuggets of gold for

people of African descent. Not only because they help us learn lessons from the feet of

our sages, but also because they give us hindsight to gain insight for use as foresight in

dealing with today’s challenges.
