Thirst Conference: Where Do We Go From Here?

Praise the Lord! The Thirst Conference was a wonderful time of evaluating just how thirsty for God

we really are. When we honestly address the idols in our lives and surrender them to God we can

be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we can pour our lives out for

the benefit of other and witness the super abundance of God in our own lives. The attendance each

night was nothing short of amazing. We had 100% attendance every night which is something Life Action almost never

sees.

All this indicates that God is at work in the lives of the people of Tega Cay Baptist. At our last elders and deacons

meeting we all agreed that there is a desire among the congregation to walk closer with God and to serve Him. So

where do we go from here?

First, let’s continue to ask each other the question, “What is God showing you right now”? It would be great if we

expected folks to ask us this question every Sunday. You may want to provide some time in your Sunday school class

or Home Group for someone to share the answer to that question.

Second, keep praying. We have made available a booklet titled “Praying for Spiritual Awakening”. Please take a copy

from the church foyer and use it as part of your daily quiet time.

Third, we are in the middle of a sermon series called “How to Remain Ready”. This four week series will help us

address the issue of surrendering our lives to God, living passionately for God, living expectantly in our walk with Him,

and living a life of gratitude.

God has great plans for our community and I believe He wants to use this church as His instrument to reach those

who do not know Christ and to disciple those who do.

In Christ Alone,

Brad

Music Notes

From Pastor Brad

As we enter into the Fall season, it means that Christmas is right around the corner! Well not exactly, but here at TCBC

there are lots of activities in full swing in preparation for the Christmas Season. There is the Advent Christmas Musical

(involving the children's choir, adult choir, drama team, dancers, youth band), the handbell choir, the adult Worship

Team, and those involved with special December services. I ask that you pray for our Worship Ministry as we prepare.

Please pray specifically that the Spirit of God fills each of our meetings, that all those involved are strengthened during

their preparations, that the focus of our efforts always comes back to the beautiful truth of the Season, and that Christ is

glorified in all we do. Pray that He prepares hearts that may not know Him to see God's amazing love for the

world. Pray that all the details and coordination fall into place and that the Lord provides grace for any challenges that

arise. We thank God that He has blessed our church with talented and willing leaders, teachers, writers, choreogra-

phers, musicians, singers, actors, and media techs who help us celebrate the greatest story ever told in fun, powerful,

and reverent ways each year.

"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope

through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word." 2 Thes 2:16-17

In Christ,

Rodger

Mercy Ministry Update

Beginning in November, the church’s monthly donation to the Fort Mill Care Center will be redirected to Serving Our Neighbors (SON). We are making this change because we believe it is important to give to organizations that share the gospel of Jesus Christ while giving aid. SON

stresses the gospel in their ministry, but the Care

Center is secular. For more information about SON,

please go to their website: www.sonsc.org. If you

NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY

The staff is working to publish a 2014/15

church directory and need your help. A

sheet will be printed showing your

families information. You will be asked to

stop by a designed table in the foyer take

your sheet and make all the necessary

changes and/or add additional information

on the sheet. We will use this information

to update our records plus publish a new

directory. One of the critical item that is

still missing is where we should assign

your family in a Home group. As you

know, you have a choice of using your

current Sunday School class as your

designated Home group or assign your

family to a Home group. If you choose to

select a Home group, you are not

obligated to attend the Home group

meetings. Whichever group you choose

to select will be the group that will

minister to you and your family in time of

physical, medical, prayer needs, etc. The

goal is to have every family assigned to a

group when we publish the new directory.

You can drop the sheet into a designated

basket in the foyer or you can scan and

email to [email protected].

SON MINISTRIES provides resources to individuals in need

while sharing the Gospel. There are several things coming up

which you can be involved in to reach our community for Christ.

Bring your new or gently used coats and blankets to the Café

and they will be passed on to someone who needs them.

Provide transportation for people who will be ringing bells for

the Salvation Army.

Offer to sponsor an individual for Christmas. Many of the peo-

ple that SON works with are alone. The Christmas gift that

they receive from SON may be the only one that they get.

Our church will be hosting the Christmas party for SON for the

second year on Sunday, December 21 at 3:00. We would love

to have people from our church attend the party. We will also

be serving a meal and need people to prepare food.

A new Community Café is opening in December in downtown Fort Mill. Each Wednesday Fort Mill Community Bible Church

will be serving a meal and they are looking for people who are

willing to help. If you have any questions or would like to help

with any of these things, please call Lisa Daubenspeck at

803-448-7901.

OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR WOMEN’S

MINISTRIES The new Tega Cay Elementary School has a

need for volunteers to listen to their First Grader’s read. Many

high risk children get left behind in their reading skills and some

suffer because they may also have struggles at home. It is very

important for all children to be on grade level with reading by the

Third Grade. If you are interested in volunteering with this

outreach ministry, please contact Terry Van Dyke at [email protected] or 803-417-5951.
