● The number of women-owned businesses is growing at a rate five
times faster than the national average

2007 to 2016
● Women-owned businesses employ nearly 9 million people and
generate more that $1.6 trillion in revenues
● 79% of new women-owned businesses are started by women of
color
● Women are 61% of SCORE’s client base
About the 2020 Conference Plan: Year Two
• The focus is on women entrepreneurs in DC, Maryland and
Virginia. Anticipate 250 attendees.
• An evening networking reception held March 18, 2020 at Arlington Economic Development – BizLaunch in Arlington, Virginia
• A full day event featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions and educational breakout sessions. Includes lunch.
• Expo featuring sponsors and nonprofit partners at daytime event
• Presented by the Washington DC Chapter of SCORE in partnership with Arlington Economic Development & Montgomery County, MD
• Conference Venue at Silver Spring Civic Center on March 19, 2020
