The Flintstones restaurantA report on concepts, references & materials by:Anusha IvaturiThe THEME: Flintstones was a very popular cartoon show.As the name suggests is faux or artificial stone which mostly considers furniture, decorative items made from stone, wood or bamboo.The house, car, and the rock-textured like furniture serve as the influence of the design concept for this restaurant interiors.

The interiors will consider few basic elements that are common in the cartoon show. A slight contemporary twist has been applied to those elements to make it more convenient and elegant.

The Flintstones family is one of the major element which has been used as one of the Focal Points in the interior of the restaurant.

Flintstones Car :This element is used as 4-seater dining furniture in the restaurant.

Flintstones Piano :This element is used as another Focal point at the opposite corner of the entrance.

Rock type Texture for the walls.

Bam Bam & Pebbles:Used for Salt and Pepper bottles.Height 6-7cms.The main feature of Flintstones cartoon is irregular shaped furniture and other decorative items.The same thing has been applied in the interiors with little modification.Few tables and chairs are designed to give an asymmetrical or "irregular" appearance, which is a common element in the Theme.

The restaurant has pretty huge windows with low sill level, which is to provide more ventilation and view of the outside area.The window some-what looks like the reference picture- irregularly cut walls. This adds more visual impact to the design.

The interiors have different wall hanged pictures of Flintstones cartoon and its characters.The reference picture on the right is an example.MATERIALS

The dining outdoor, has Low Level seating arrangement, and the chairs and tables are made of rattan or cane weaved or wicker material. The idea behind this comes from the seating in the Flintstones Cartoon, and to add more comfort, the design has been modified.Few reference images on how the low seating chair looks like.

Reference from the Theme.

One more Focal point has been added near 4-seater dining, after the entrance, which is a kind of Arch- looks like, irregularly cut Rocks, made of acrylic material, and has lighting inside.

Level 3:Laminated Flooring.Rustic Teak Planks which gives warm touch to the flooring.Stain resistant and attractive design. 3 Strips wild teak.Level 3: ( Laminated Toughened Glass flooring) in the center.Thick tempered glass with slip and UV resistance.

Lighting Materials:Wall Sconce 1 :Crystal Blown design made with glass with granular texture.With its unique hand crafted design its makes the interior more elegant. 5X 60W Incandescent bulbs.Wall Sconce 2 :This light has a metal frame and is brushed nickel finish with an artistic glass.This contemporary wall light though simple in its design makes a great addition to the interior -1 X52W Incandescent bulb.19X 19X 522X 24.5X 614X 9X 6.6Wall Sconce 3 :Hand blown glass, imported from Italy, which is chrome plated and has 150W Halogen bulb.Ceiling light Placed around the central Seating area. It has bright and extravagant lighting, which brightens the space.4 cutout required.Made of glass.4.7 X50 X 2.7Ceiling light 2:Aluminum or Brass wired sphere.This fixtures unique wire design not only beautifully lights up the space, it also creates brilliant projections upon the ceiling.

Pendant light 1:Stunning light reflecting lead crystal strands suspended from a canopy in satin nickel finish.

Pendant light 1:Bamboo pendant lights, each hung at different heights so as to give a different lighting effect.24dia, height- varies.
