The Formula Snelling Cup A new fibrous plastering and heritage plastering competence award

The Formula Snelling Cup for fibrous plastering and heritage plastering has been established to:

• promotetrainingintraditionalplasteringskills,enablingpeopletobecomefullyqualified

• encourage independent training providers and colleges to build and maintain high standards in traditional plastering

• recognise achievement in producing practical craftsmen in traditional plastering whose specialismwillincreaseemployabilityintheirchosenfield

• ensure the continuity of traditional skills across the generations in the national interest.

The Formula Snelling Cup will be awarded to the independent training establishment which, in the view of the Judging Panel, has demonstrated the best conversion of registration to qualificationsinNVQ/SVQlevel3andDiplomalevel3duringtheperiod1st January 2014 to 31st January 2015.

The Formula Snelling Cup will be presented at the Plaisterers’ Company Training Awards Ceremony to be held at a special luncheon in Plaisterers’ Hall on Monday, 9th November 2015.

The Winner of the Formula Snelling Cup will also receive a cheque for £750 with a Runner-Up prize of £250.

Introduced for the first time this year, a fibrous plastering and heritage plastering competence award for:

· Independent training providers · Colleges with independent work-based assessment units · Colleges providing in-house training

This new category of the Plaisterers’ Training Awards is sponsored by Saint-Gobain Formula, a global leader in the supply of specialist gypsumplastersusedintraditionalfibrousandheritageplastering.

2.Trainingproviders/collegesmustsubmitthenumberofcandidateswhohaveregisteredforqualificationNVQ3/SVQ3andDiplomalevel3.

3.TheymustalsoprovidethenumberofNVQ3andDiplomaqualificationsthattheyhaveachieved.

4. The period for which this information is required is 1st January 2014 to 31st January 2015.

5.Allentriesmustbeaccompaniedbytheawardingbodyevidenceverifyingregistrations/achievements and course type for the set date parameters.

6. The basis for determining the winner of the Formula Snelling Cup will be the greatest number of achievementsatbothNVQ3/SVQ3andDiplomalevel3comparedtothenumberofregistrations

7.TheJudgingPanel’sdecisionwillbefinal.

The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers is one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London.
