Everybody was glad to see Mr. P. W. Conley, superintendent terminals, re- turn to work the early part of August after belng off slck due to the esce-s- rive heat. Engineer Wm. Johnson was off several days the flrst part of August clue to the marriage of hls daught$r, but we were all sorry to learn that his absence from duty had to be continued on account of M'rs. Johnson being sick. J. C. Rippert, local chairman. B. R. T., from Kansas City, was conflnecl to Frisco hospltal first part of August. We are glad Mr. Rippert has returned home and hope he has returned to his work. AmnnK the hitter experiences of li.fe we regret to report the death of pas- senger brakeman Geo. Mr. Coon. With hls passing the Frisco lost an old and valuable man and we, a worthy fri<nd. He entered the servlce In April, 1902. and left a rood record behind him. We extend our"sympathy to his family. Mr. Allie Jones, vice president St. Lnuls Terminals Club. was recentlv confined t'o the Frisco hospital where he had an operation for appendicitis. Hepe Mr. Jones will be back on the job soon. Mr. J. A. Maroney, general yard- master, was absent from service Au- gust 15 attending the funeral of the mother-in-law of hls slster, with whom he lives. Our sympathy is extended to ,Mr. Blaroiiey's sister and her hu.s- band and o f l ~ e r members of their families. Engineer Harry Dean. who has about 45 years' service, is in the Frisco hos- pital.
