York Cruisin’

A few members ventured out a few weeks ago to York, and it was great to see. Despite the street rod show being cancelled, classic and modern hot rods were out in force along Route 30 on Fri-day and Saturday evening! We met up on Saturday, and by 6 when we drove past the usual hot spot at Friendly’s restaurant parking lot, it was packed already! We expected that, so our meet up spot was a little further down the shopping plaza, but still close enough to check it out. While it was not as packed as it usually is when the street rods are in town, it was great to see a whole bunch of muscle cars and hot rods cruising Route 30 and hanging out.

For Sale: Bill Vantuono’s 2004 GTO

Many SVGTO members are familiar with Bill Vantuono’s 2004 Barbados Blue on Black GTO, one of only 572 built in this one-year color with the 4L60E automatic. Bill is the original owner, and this car has been his reliable daily driver, accumulating 166,000 expertly maintained miles. Since new, this GTO has been maintained with Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil, and the engine oil, gasoline (93 octane only), transmission fluid, power steering fluid and differential gear oil are regularly treated with zMAX microlubricant. Oil changed religiously every 5,000 miles. Over the years, the transmission was rebuilt (75K miles). The front struts, rear shocks, rack & pinion steering assembly, alternator, AC compressor, PS pump and drive shaft carrier bearings and couplings have been replaced within the past year. The differential oil was changed late last year with TORCO synthetic oil and friction modifi-er—no “clunk in the trunk.” Modifications include a BMR strut tower brace, American Racing 17-inch wheels, DiscItalia slotted/drilled rotors with ceramic pads, RK Sport cold air induction hood and rear spoiler, billet grilles, projector beam headlamps, LED tail lamps, K&N intake, a JVC sound system with Polk Audio speakers and Blue-tooth, backup sensors, and a few small cosmetic mods. There’s even a trailer hitch designed for the GTO and similar Holden cars that Bill installed to accept a bike rack. GTOAA 2004-2006 Tech Advisor Jerry Klaus tuned this GTO, so it’s much quicker and powerful than stock. Many factory parts, including the hood, have been retained. The interior needs some work, mainly, the seats need to be re-upholstered as some of the seams have split (a common problem with these GTOs). Full disclosure: In 2012, this car was involved in a one-car accident that damaged the nose. Bill is asking $11,500. Contact him at [email protected].
