What the Golgi Apparatus does for the cell

• Collects molecules and combines them to make more complex molecules.

• Then it takes those molecules and bundles them into vessels

• After they are packaged into vessels they are either stored for later use or sends them out of the cell.

If The Cell Were A Factory…

• If the Golgi apparatus were a factory, it would be the distribution and shipping department.

Cytoskeleton

Page 8: The Golgi Apparatus

Where the cytoskeleton/golgi apparatus is located

• The cytoskeleton is located in the inside of the cell. It forms the shape of the cells w/o cell walls.

• The golgi apparatus is located near the nucleus

Listed above is a picture of an actin cytoskeleton in a mouse fibroblast cell.

Cells including Cytoskeleton

• Prokaryotic Cells• Eukaryotic Cells

Page 12: The Golgi Apparatus

What the Cytoskeleton does for the cell

• Forms a structure for movement of organelles around the cytoplasm

• The cytoskeleton stores microfilaments and microtubules

• The structure forms the shape for the cells that don’t have cell walls

• If the cytoskeleton were a factory it would help all the machines and its components move.
