• The Great Depression was a time where there was no money and jobs.

• Most people lived on the street• No money for food• Many people lost houses• The Great Depression was a horrible time to live through

underemployment• 20% defaulted on mortgages • Foreclosure rate passed 40%

Country• Grasshopper plagues in 1930

to 1934• State aid was not good enough• Farmers that depended on

• Production slowed down• Prices started falling • Countries lowered the value of their currency• Farm products fell about 40%• Share prices started falling rapidly
