Chairman Message: The role of civil society organizations such as the Jordan Green

Building Council has never been more important with the advent of increasing resource

scarcity due to increased regional instability and the increasing thirst for credibility in all

facets of our lives.

The path forward for the green built environment becoming mainstream in Jordan is the

full-fledged engagement in the “green economy” removing barriers for growth and

unlocking the green financing bottleneck.

Exam)

The green building council has held a

course entitled “passive design for hot

climates” This class aims to give an

introduction of the theoretical and

operational principles underlying

Passive Design of Buildings. By a series

of (oral and self-study) lectures , the

class introduces the concepts,

assumptions and limitations which

underlie the methods currently used

to appraise the bio climatic design of

buildings. The subjects are developed

from basic principles of building energy

efficiency in relation to the climate.
