Mrs Miriam Kennet Director The Green
Economics Institute
Miriam Kennet (UK) is a specialist in Green Economics, she is the Co-Founder and the CEO of the
Green Economics Institute. She also founded and edits the first Green Economics academic journal in
the world, the International Journal of Green Economics, and she has been credited with creating
the academic discipline of Green Economics. Green Economics has been recently described by the
Bank of England as one of the most vibrant and healthy areas of economics at the moment.
Having researched at Oxford University, Oxford Brookes and South Bank University, she is a member
of the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University. She has taught, lectured and spoken at
Universities and events all over Europe, from Alicante to Oxford and Bolzano, and to government
officials from Montenegro and Kosovo to The UK Cabinet Office, Transport Department, National
Government School and Treasury and spoken in Parliaments from Scotland to Austria and The
French Senate and Estonia. She is also a regular speaker at public events of all kinds and an after
dinner speaker. She has a regular delegation to the UNFCC COP Kyoto Climate Change Conferences
and headed up a delegation to RIO + 20 Earth Summit: Greening the Economy in RIO Brazil. She
regularly speaks on TV around Europe, most recently in Belgium and Estonia and the BBC has made
a special programme about her life and work.
She runs regular conferences at Oxford University about Green Economics. She publishes regularly
and has over 100 articles, chapters and other publications. She part of the UK Government’s School
Leadership Team. She has been featured in the Harvard Economics Review and Wall Street Journal
as a leader and written for the Trecanni in Italy. Recently she was awarded one of 100 most powerful
Unseen Global Women by the Charity One World Action for her global work and won the Honour
Award at the Green Business Awards from the Luxembourg Minister of Finance for her work.One of
her proudest achievements is her edited volume, Women’s Unequal Pay and Poverty which the
United Nations features on its website.

Sang-Hyup Kim -Professor, KAIST, College of Business, Graduate School of Green Growth -Chairman, Coalition for Our Common Future Sang-Hyup Kim is a visiting professor at Graduate School of Green Growth, College of Business,
KAIST and Chairman of Coalition for Our Common Future. Prior to joining KAIST, he worked at the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea in 2008 as the Secretary for National Future and Vision, where he contributed in setting the historic “Low Carbon Green Growth” vision for Korea. In 2011, he became the Senior Secretary to the President for Green Growth, coordinating the planning, development and implementation of Korea’s Green Growth strategy. Through collaboration with the Presidential Committee on Green Growth and relevant ministries, his agenda ranges from national implementation of Green Growth policies to international climate change negotiations and promoting global cooperation for making Green Growth became a truly global asset. He also served as a member of the Global Agenda Council of World Economic Forum. Kim was formerly the Washington correspondent for Maeil Business Newspaper and a Founding Member of the World Knowledge Forum and Vision Korea Project. He has also worked at SBS, Seoul Broadcasting System, during which he set up the Future and Vision Project Team in 2004, in addition to founding and serving in the capacity of the Executive Director of the Seoul Digital Forum. Kim has a B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from Seoul National University. He has been recipient of numerous awards during his career, including: Broadcaster of the Year; Korean Broadcasters Association (2007); Hongjo Order of Service Merit (2010); Hwangjo Order of Service Merit, Korean Government (2013)
Suh-Yong Chung
Professor, Division of International Studies of Korea University
Professor. Suh-Yong Chung is Professor in the Division of International Studies at Korea
University. He was also a Visiting Professor at SciencesPo in Paris in year 2015-2015.
Professor Chung directs Center for Climate and Sustainable Development Law and Policy
(CSDLAP), and Korea University’s Center for Climate Change and Marine Environment
Governance. He has published numerous journal articles and monographs in the fields of
climate change, environment, and sustainable development. At the policy level, Professor
Chung is a Member of Policy Advisory Board of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chair of National
Working Group on UNDP/GEF YSLME Project, and Director of Institute of UN Affairs of
UNA-Korea. Previously, Professor Chung served a Member of Expert Committee of
Presidential Advisory Council on Science as a Member of Expert Committee, Compliance
Committee of the UN Basel Convention as a Vice Chair and was a Member of Council of
Global Green Growth Institute. Professor Chung holds degrees in law and international
relations from Seoul National University, the London School of Economics and Stanford
University

Mrs Agneta Granström
MP Sami Indigenous Peoples in Arctic Sweden Agneta Granström, Executive Board Member of the Regional Council, Region Norrbotten. President of the
Assembly of European (AER) Regions EHealth Network. Mrs. Granström has a long standing
commitment to utilizing new technologies for providing better health and care. In 2006 she
founded the AER Ehealth Network and recently she was appointed as Vice Chair for the
Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions Digitalization Committee. Ms
Granström holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Science, Gerontology and Public Health. With
a background as a chief community nurse, a state registered nurse, and as lecturer at the
Department of Healthcare Sciences at Luleå University of Technology Mrs Granström brings a
unique perspective to the healthcare policy making process. Mrs Granström possesses wide
clinical expertise in primary and elderly care and as a political leader she has a profound
understanding of the organizational and political challenges involved in redesigning healthcare
on a regional, national and pan-European level. With a collaborative spirit and an international
outlook she is confident that through collaboration and smart use of technology we can
transform healthcare together.

Sh. Enkhbayar Keynote Speaker
Sh. Enkhbayar is a Senior Research Fellow of Research Division and Business
Support Division of the Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia (ERINA). Her
research at ERINA focuses on Mongolian economy and environment and energy
issues in Northeast Asia.
She joined ERINA as a Visiting Researcher in 2001 upon earning M.A. in International
Development from the International University of Japan, Niigata. Completed Ph.D. in
Economics at the Graduate School of Modern Society and Culture, Niigata University in
2006 and promoted to Associate Senior Research Fellow in December 2006 and to Senior
Research Fellow in December 2011.
Formerly, Sh. Enkhbayar served as the Director-General of Information Monitoring and
Evaluation Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Industry of Mongolia during 1997-
1999 and worked as an Officer-in-Charge at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Mongolia.
She joined Mongolia’s “Uyan” Leather Garment Manufacturing and Trading Company in
1986 as a Project Manager and Engineer and promoted to Chief Engineer and First Deputy
Director in 1988.
She earned Diploma of Mechanical Engineering from the Moscow Technological Institute of
Light Industry in 1986 and awarded Postgraduate Diploma from the Netherlands
International Institute for Management in 1993.
Sh. Enkhbayar is a founding member and Chair of the Board of Mongolian NGO “Institute for
Future” and an Auditor of a Japanese NGO “Mongolia Interrelation Association in Niigata”.
Mr. Batjargal Zamba
Dr. Batjargal Zamba is currently serving as the
Special Envoy of Mongolia on Climate change,
National Focal Point of Mongolia for the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC), covering as
well the coordination of activities related to the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) and Green Climate Fund(GCF). He was the Minister of
the Environment of Mongolia from 1990 to 1996 and Director-General of the
National Agency for Meteorology, Hydrology and Environmental Monitoring from
1996 to 2001 and Ambassador of Mongolia to Japan from 2001 to 2005. For the
period 2005-2011 he was working in New York as the Representative of the UN
specialized agency-World Meteorological Organization(WMO) to the United Nations.
After retirement from the United Nations Dr. Batjargal Zamba worked as a visiting
research fellow from 2011 to 2013 at the Research Institute for Humanity and
Nature (RIHN) in Kyoto, Japan. He was also an advisor at the Office of the
President of the United Nations Environmental assembly (UNEA) of UNEP in
Ulaanbaatar (2014-2016).

Nagi Bedawi (UK) has over 15 years’ experience working for some of the largest banks and hedge funds in the world as a global derivatives trader. His resume includes running successful proprietary trading teams for JPMorgan, Eton Park and Barclays Capital, at Director and Managing Director level. He studied Theoretical Physics at Imperial College, University of London, and received a Msci 1st Class degree. He now seeks to apply his thorough understanding of the world economy to Green Economics, and the challenges of implementing real and tangible steps to achieve a transformation to a Green Economy. Nagi is an active member of the Green Economics Institute.
Michelle Gale (USA )
Michelle Suzanne Gale is an international speaker, social entrepreneur, and activist.
She is founder and president of the Gender Progress Consortium, founder and trustee of
the Gender Progress Foundation, and is the creator of the term "gender progress". She
is a director of the Green Economics Institute, which is credited with the creation of the
academic discipline of green economics). As an editor at Green Economics Institute
Publishing, she has edited and collaborated on over 25 books,[1] and is deputy editor of
the International Journal of Green Economics,[2] the world's first green economics
journal.[3]
She is also a trustee of the Green Economics Institute Trust, and creator of the Hope
Health Initiative, an international push to improve healthcare, education and economic
development in the developing world. Gale de Oliveira speaks internationally on themes
including Youth Leadership, Women's Empowerment & Gender Progress, Green
Economics, Sustainability, Economic Development, Youth Engagement in Politics,
Human Rights, and Democracy. Michelle Gale has been with the Green Economics
Institute since mid-2008, transitioning from a consultant eventually to a director (2012).
During her early years at the Institute, she travelled all around Europe and the Americas,
coordinating events and workshops. For example, she coordinated an event for Green
Youth and Green Seniors at the German Greens Headquarters in Berlin, Germany, and
presented a paper on green economics and land reform at a retreat in Somerset, UK.
Soon thereafter, her first academic article was published in Europe's World (January
2009). She began to participate in dozens of campaigns, projects and events, and was
invited to speak at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Nigerian
Permanent Mission to the UN, and participated in the UNFCCC Conference in Samoa,
the UNFCCC COP15 in Copenhagen, COP16 in Cancun, COP17 in Durban, and so
forth. Gale de Oliveira lectured on green economics and youth engagement in Skopje,
Macedonia, meeting with the minister of the environment and lecturing at the university.
She chaired three side-events at UNFCCC Rio+20 for The Green Economics Institute
and speaks on green economics internationally. She is director of development at
UMMA Center, a Chicagoland non-profit dedicated to empowering the local community
and combating poverty through education. I serve on the board of directors and advisory
boards of several non-profits around the world, and advise primarily on finance,
partnership-building, and organizational growth.
