Islam has always exhorted believers to go and seek knowledge and inspired by their faith many Muslim scientists have contributed and continue today to contribute towards the advancement of science for the benefit of humanity. Islam inspires a culture of learning and striving towards the common good. Muslim scientists contributed greatly towards the advancement of science and this contribution is not widely known.
From ward systems in hospital through to contributions in medicine, agriculture, maths, geography, pharmacology, agriculture, architecture and engineering and many other sciences through to the preservation of classical Greek, Egyptian and Persian works the Islamic civilisation contributed greatly to the sciences of today.
Numerous inventions from cataract operations to algebra to mass paper production through to the first recorded studies of many diseases on through to pioneering books on surgery were established by Muslim, Christian and Jewish scientists who lived and thrived in the Islamic civilisation.
