While we are celebrating the Chinese New Year of

Monkey, it is good to plan for 2016. HKRA will be

focusing more on academic events in 2016. Through

liaison with different organizations, we can invite

Expert/Speakers from profession related fields to our RCEP and

deliver talks to enrich our knowledge. A new trial will be the

Monte Carlo Introduction course (2016 RCEP-II). Our members

from RT will benefit most as they can understand how dose is

calculated.

Around 30 Radiation Dose Optimization Ambassadors will

finish their studies (20-Feb) and take up a major role in

Radiation Protection in their departments.

To prepare for the HKRRTC in 2017, HKRA will sponsor our

members to do research and publish in the Conference. $5000

will be granted for each research project if it is approved by us.

For member welfares, starting from 2016, we can enjoy

privilege as members of Association of HK Nursing Staff. And

we have 3 discount oil cards to choose from…

Co-organized with HKART

March, 2016

To be Announced!

To commemorate the 120th year in the

discovery of X-ray and 25th year of HKRA, a

large-scale exhibition was held in FJ Podium of

the Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 7th

to 9th Nov, 2015. This event was jointly

organized with PolyU Radiography Alumni

Association, and Hong Kong Association of

Radiation Therapists. The exhibition included

many game booths, radiation education talks,

models of x-ray equipment and poster

presentation.

Please apply our travel allowance when you have papers accepted by the Conferences

The Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) Bill was passed by the Legislative

Council on 13 July 2015. To help participating Health Care Providers to better understand the

requirements in using the eHRSS, a Code of Practice for using eHR for Healthcare (COP) was

published and sent to you earlier for your information. As access to eHR is governed by the

“need-to-know” principle, proper balance between granting appropriate access rights and

safeguarding patients’ privacy is needed. If you still have any concern and opinion about the

eHRSS, please feel free to contact us!

With effect from 1 November 2015, the assessment criteria for Application of Radiographer

Registration will be changed. Eligible applicants (particular those with non-local education)

please refer to the Hong Kong Radiographers Board’s webpage for details

http://www.smp-council.org.hk/rg/en/content.php?page=reg_quareg

We recently received a number of complaints about the unfair Hospital Authority

policies. First, for staff joining HA after 2002, the salary point will be frozen for the

first two years of service, and even after promotion, their salary point increment will

also be hold for two years.

Second, the monthly allowance received by staff of same grade and same rank are

different; some receive fixed monthly allowance while some receive about 17% of

their salary.

In fact, these situations have not yet been improved or changed for many years of time,

despite it is repeatedly voiced out in the AHSGCC meeting and agreed by the

management team that these would be reviewed from time to time.

We decide to liaise with other allied health professionals and nursing disciplines to join

force to express our concerns to HA, media, and the Bureau.

More to come…
