Another half year passed and the demand for Radio- graphers both diagnostic & therapeutic continuous to stand. Our latest news is those graduated from Tung Wah College can register as Radiotherapist and therefore can help to alleviate the Manpower Shortage. Although there is Labor Law in Hong Kong that protect us after injury on duty, there is much controversy and grey area where compensation should applied or not. HKRA would start to look into this subject and try to draft some guidelines for the Profession. We have two new plans to help Radiographers in their careers; they are Research Fund and Apps Development. You can found more information from other columns in this newsletter. HKRA just join the Organ Donation Champion and will promote organ donation in Hong Kong. Please consider organ donation and take actions to register.

After playing nearly for one year, we had finished 90% of our games and we will have our final games in October.

The Monte Carlo Simulation workshop is successfully held on 5-March. Our Tutor is Dr. Joel Cheung (Medical Physicist, PMH, the expert of Monte Carlo Calculation)

We are starting a new Exercise to promote Research among Radiographers and Radiation Therapists. To summarize, you can apply for a Research Fund HK$5,000, if your research proposal is accepted by us. The date of present- ation will be best in the AACRT/HKRRTC 2017, which is a Mega event coming next year in Radiography.

Hong Kong Radiographers’ Association had joined the Organ Donation Promotion Charter We understand and agree - � To assist in public education to facilitate the public understanding of the significance and importance of organ donation.

� Organ donation must be voluntary and altruistic.

� To encourage the public to register their wish at the Centralized Organ Donation Register (CODR) of the Department of Health (www.codr.gov.hk) and share their wish with their family.

� To assist in continuous promotional work to inculcate a culture that honors organ donation. To inculcate a culture that honors organ donation, we are committed to - � Promoting organ donation to allow members/staff to understand and be receptive of the idea of organ donation;

� Encouraging members / staff to register at the CODR (www.codr.gov.hk) of the Department of Health;

� Encouraging members / staff to share their wish of donating organs as well as inviting their family members to support organ donation;

� Encouraging the public to express their wish for organ donation through different channels; and

� Participating in promotional activities or arrange programmes to promote organ donation.

As you know, we are developing a HKRA Apps that is going to house numerous useful tools. We can't be success without your participation. If you are interested, please contact us for details. HK$3000 honorarium will be given for each tool. Take a look to the attached document and start to apply if you are interested.

It is important to stress that the Association cannot raise concerns on behalf of members. However we are going to draft a document to provide guidance for members.
