Our club ranks high among district clubs in total contributions in past years and I hope to continue and increase our dedica- tion to the work of the Foundation through 100% participation.” To assist members, President Rod has given each member a beehive bank to use to collect spare change during the year to contrib- ute to the Foundation. Return the bank at each monthly Club Assembly and we will count and credit each member for their contribution. In addition to his normal contributions, President Rod will match all “beehive” donations at .25 for each dollar contributed up to $100 per member. Roosevelt ordered nationwide gasoline rationing to begin December 1. Heard Along the Way… BOWLING NEWS by George Berry On Thanksgiving Eve, Rockaway bowled against the 2 nd place "Bernards Bankers". Our team all put forth a presentable effort with a couple of "star frames" and members almost posted two clean games. In an excit- ing final game, Rockaway won our only points of the evening with the help of PP Steve's “4 bagger” in the concluding frames of the game. Rockaway won the game by a slim 2 pins despite that one of Bernards' bowlers bowled his high game (237) for the year. Congratulations to Mike Delgato for his 655 series!
