A group of New York City public school teachers and parents from the Grassroots Education Movement wrote and produced this documentary in response to the Davis Guggenheim's film, Waiting for Superman. The Inconvenient Truth provides a critique of an increasingly free-market driven education system, the undermining of teachers unions and the overall faith in the idea that charter schools are just what the country needs. This film highlights the real-life experiences of public school parents and educators inside schools and in our society and takes a holistic look at education reform.

Una organización de padres y maestros de escuelas públicas escribieron y realizaron este documentario para responder a la película Esperando a superman (Waiting for Superman). La verdad inconveniente provee una evaluación de un sistema educativa controlada por corporaciones privadas, la socavación de los sindicatos de maestros , y la fe en la idea general que las escuelas “charter” proveen el remedio para todo lo malo de este país. Esta película nos enseña las experiencias verdaderas de padres de familia de escuelas públicas y maestros adentro de las escuelas de nuestro país. Es una mirada al movimiento de “la reforma educativa.”
