A Message from Your Interim Pastor

God has graciously blessed us with meaningful worship services throughout the month of August. We thank Him for the ministry of Scott Dawson the first weekend; several baptisms of friends are resulting from that endeavor.

Let me say what a joy it is personally to be able to serve as your Interim Pastor. Canaan Baptist Church has certainly extended a warm welcome; your weekly words of affirmation regarding the preaching ministry are deeply appreciated. It was a special delight to be able to put so many names and faces together this past Sunday during our potluck luncheon. We express our deepest thanks to each who provided one of the delicious dishes as well as the delectable desserts. Special gratitude goes to those who worked behind the scenes to arrange the Fellowship Hall and have all the drinks, plates and plastic-ware so readily available. Since there are so many of you let me please respectfully request that you continue repeating your names each time we encounter one another; this will help me significantly. This coming Sunday will be a part of Labor Day weekend. If you are in town, I trust that you can be with us for worship. I am planning to bring a special sermon in conjunction with the holiday entitled “How to Be Happy in Your Work” (2 Thessalonians 3:6-13). See you with a Bible in my hand and a message in my heart.
