In spite of 40 points available today, we already have two teams in comfort zone and they are two of the favourite in ante-post virtual bet: romanian team PISOY and french equipe PUYS. Seven teams will fight tonight for two remaining slots in final four. Black Thursday for MIXED GRILL, scoring 0.34 against NO PASARAN, wasting a first match ball to qualify. The strong french team is still fifth with good chance to come back. ALPERT showed a costant walk to the finals, losing only 2 matches and few IMPS, but they still need about 19 or 20 VP tonight to be sure. EPSILON team is laying down a bit their fans, for the moment, but a good rush tonight could give them an award: same for KOEPPEL. COSTA and PRIARONE need a miracle, scoring 35 or + to have chance. In any case, we gotta underline a big equilibrium. 111 or 112 VP, with an average of 11,2 wil be likely enough to reach the fourth position.

Negli ultimi 40 punti a disposizione in giornata, vediamo due squadre in una discreta comfort zone (favorite peraltro dai nomi che militano la formazione): il team in parte rumeno PISOY e la barricata francese PUYS. Sette sono le squadre che combatteranno stasera per gli altri due posti a disposizione. Giovedì nero è stato per MIXED GRILL che ha incassato solo 0.34 contro NO PARASAN. Il team francese è al momento quinto con buone chance di rientrare. ALPERT ha mostrato un percorso solido e cercherà di incassare i 19-20 VP mancanti. EPSILON e KOEPPEL leggermente indietro rispetto le aspettative ma un rush finale potrebbe essere decisivo. COSTA e PRIARONE cercheranno il miracolo segnando 35+ VP. Ad ogni modo, è tangibile l’equilibrio che delinea il torneo. 112 VP circa sono quelli ricercati per qualificarsi alle semifinali del weekend.

The lead was K♣ and after it the defenders found the switch in spades. Let’s see how the play went at Pierre’s table: the declarer won the trick with the Ace of spades (the 7♠ looks like he doesn’t have honors in spades) and played heart finesse where Ted won with the King. Now spades again, the declarer won it and discarded the spades loser on his Ace of heart. Now hearts-ruff, diamonds for the Ace, spades-ruff, clubs-ruff for a nice ending game in the last four cards where he played hearts...

La difesa dopo aver attaccato K♣ ha giustamente trovato lo swith a picche. Ora al tavolo di Pierre, il giocante ha preso di Asso (il ritorno di 7 lasciava poche speranze che avesse un onore) e ha provato l’impasse a cuori, andato male. Sul ritorno picche, ha scartato la picche perdente sull’Asso di cuori. Ora cuori-taglio, quadri per la mano, picche-taglio, fiori-taglio per un elegante finale a quattro carte dove ora giocando cuori...

If East doesn’t show an heart, the declarer can continue cross-ruffing knowing that the clubs are 4-4. Instead, he was forced to play for the diamonds 2-2 knowing the distribution of the leader. Bravo, Pierre!

Se non compare la cuori, può finire a tagli incrociati considerando che le fiori sono distribuite 4-4. Invece è stato costretto a giocare le quadri 2-2 ma ben sapendo di trovarle divise, dato che la mano dell’attaccante era ormai contata. Bravo, Pierre!
