Butterfly CeremonyRabbi Gary Glickstein of Temple Beth Shalom spoke

at our Butterfly Dedication ceremony this morning. As we were dedicating butterflies, Rabbi Glickstein pointed to a quotation from the Holocaust survivor and writer, Primo Levi. Listen to how Levi described the butterfly, urged the good rabbi, and think about your child:

The butterfly’s attractiveness derives not only from colors and symmetry: deeper motives contribute to it. We would not think them so beautiful if they did not fly, or if they flew straight and briskly like bees, or if they stung, or above all if they did not enact the perturbing mystery of metamorphosis.

Rabbi Gary Glickstein spoke during the Butterfly dedication ceremony;

prior to the ceremony, Rabbi Glickstein spoke with our students at Kabbalat Shabbat.
