“We read the world wrong and say that it deceives us.”
Rabindranath Tagore
• As we read the quote we can think that the great question for us is the way you look at your life.
• All in life has two sides: good and bad.
• If you say yes to one other will disappears.
Perspective: concepts
• According to http://www.semioticon.com/seo/P/perspective.html :
• “Perspective is a method for producing realistic pictures. It is a mathematical system that indicates how a real-world scene would project to a vantage point. If a picture is to be produced, a picture surface is placed between the real-world scene and the vantage point.
• Each point of interest in the real-world scene is joined to the vantage point by a straight line. A depicting point is placed on the picture surface where the line intersects it. Perspective pictures look realistic because they recreate the pattern of light of the real-world scene.”
• (…)
• An observer looking at the painting “The School of Athens” by Raphael (next slide) gets an impression similar to that from observing a real scene in Athens. In other words, the painting looks realistic. This realism is provided by perspective. Here, we outline the principles of perspective and show how vision uses perspective pictures.
• So, perspective can be defined as a simulation of the real world.
• We can only simulate the reality. • Every time we see the world our eyes and
brain create a perception of what we are seeing. It is not the reality, they are signs, and they are representations of the world around us.
• Every time I see I activate some filters, this can be my emotions, my beliefs, my culture, my imagination about the fact.
• If I am in a place I have never been before I have different sensations in seeing persons, things, foods.
• If I do not know anything about the culture I can find wrong what they find right and vice-versa.
• People has individual differences: own story, class, education, ethnic differences, personality types and gender, we are different as world observers, we are in different points of observation, we have different values and beliefs used as filters to see the world.
Perspective in Coaching
• In coaching, it is important take this note: we are all human, we need love and be loved, respect and be respected, be successful and help people reach the success but the way we do this is different from person to person.
The Let it go game
• First of all we must remember that perspective was a mathematical formula to represents the reality as we see, but it only represents.
• Our mind sees as if it was real, but our thoughts are made of language, of signs, and signs can only represent, not be in place of the object.
• In our life we can think deeply about this, we can choose the way to see the things, we can choose the signs we can construct our thoughts, our life, our relationship and all departments of our life.
• This game purpose is learn how the client see other points of the view of the same object applying to his/her life.
How do you see the world?
• Of course the picture is not a real perspective.
• It is a trap – we can’t take the sun with our hands, of course.
• The illusion that it keeps is because of the distance of the observer is from the objects.
• The way I observe an object and the way I represent it on my mind gave me all that know about the world.
• Remember the epigraph of this presentation: We read the world wrong and say that it deceives us.
• How to live without being deceived by the world?
• The answer is: Shifting perspective.
What do you see a woman or a skull?
Try to find 82 Absolute bottles in this picture
• We will continue pages by pages giving thousands of examples on how our eyes can create illusions, and so we can imagine our ears, our nose, our mouth and our skin.
• If you are in love, all is beautiful, if you are ill all must seems gray, if you are hungry all foods smell good.
• So our senses organs and our emotions are responsible for the way we feel and see the world around us.
• This is a great game to shifting perspective, we can let things go as judgments, trying to see the woman or the skull, or be more attempted to the other picture in other to find the Absolute bottles.
SHIFTING PERSPECTIVE PART I
What can you see: a woman or a man playing saxophone?
Do you see a pretty young lady or an old one?
What can you see?
And now: how many horses can you see?
There is a face among the coffee seeds. Can you find it?
Hunting wolves! How many wolves are on the picture?
How many faces are hidden in this forest?
The cat and the rat.
How could this elephant walk till where you are?
Are the gray dots you see between the squares real?
SHIFTING PERSPECTIVE PART II
The Principle of Emptiness
• The following text was written by Joseph Newton, you can see the power point presentation at the site: http://www.slideshare.net/skipfairies/let-it-go-presentation-923562
Think ……..
Have you got the habit of hoarding useless objects, thinking that one day, who knows when, you may
need them ?
Have you got the habit of
accumulating money , and not spending
it because you think that in the future you may be
in want of it?
Have you got the habit of storing clothes, shoes, furniture, utensils and other home supplies that you
haven’t used already for some time?
And inside yourself...? Have you got the habit to keep reproaches, resentment, sadness, fears and more?
Don’t do it! You are going against your prosperity!
It is necessary to make room, to leave an empty
space in order to allow new things to arrive to your life.
It is necessary that you get rid of all the useless things that are in you and in your
life, in order to prosperity to arrive.
The force of this emptiness is one that will absorb and attract all that you wish.
As long as you are, materially or emotionally, holding old and useless feelings, you won’t have room for new opportunities
Goods must circulate.... Clean your drawers, the wardrobes, the workshop, the
garage...
Give away what you don’t use any longer...
The attitude of keeping a heap of useless stuff ties your life down.
It’s not the objects you keep that stagnate your life...
but rather the attitude of keeping...
When we keep in store, we consider the possibility of
wanting, of penury..
we believe that tomorrow it may lack, and that we won’t be able to fulfil those
necessities..
With that idea, you are sending two messages to your brain and to your life:
That you don’t trust tomorrow...
and you think that the new and the
better are not for you,
For this reason you cheer y.s. up by storing old
and useless stuff.
Get rid of what lost its colour and brightness...
Let the new enter your home...
and yourself.
For this reason, after reading this...
Don’t keep it...
Make it circulate...
May prosperity and peace reach you
soon

• The beauty is in living the moment looking forward, the Idea of keeping things holds you back to the past, not only material things, but emotions that we do not want that they remain in our new structures.
• If you want to move forward discover the things are holding you back
SHIFTING PERSPECTIVE PART III
A good way to forgive is beginning with the action of forgive yourself.
• The steps are:– Visualize the situation.– Remember that it is impossible to go through life without
hurting another person's feelings just as it is impossible to go through life without being hurt by another person.
– Acknowledge what you did to hurt this other person, but do not dwell on the problem for too long. You have to let it go.
– Learn from the experience. Take positive steps about your behavior and try to understand other people points of view.
– Forgive yourself.– Recognize that it is not their fault that you hurt them. Do
not take your pain out on them.– Be committed to moving forward and responsible for you
actions.
All things havbe more points of view that we can imagine.
Think about this: “The only place where success comes
before work is in a dictionary.” Vidal Sassoon
