Shared Automation System Users’ Group (SASUG) December 13, 2012 at Novi Public Library Meeting was called to order at 9:30 by Chair, Amy Rosen (WHLK) Approval of Agenda Motion to approve the agenda as presented by Becky Willemsen (MDHT), seconded by Linda Ballard (CHEL). Motion passed unanimously. Approval of Minutes from October 25, 2012 Meeting Motion to approve the minutes by Celia Morse (BERK), seconded by James Lenze (INKS). Motion passed unanimously. System Update - Anne Neville (TLN) Patrons Calling TLN - Should not TLN staff are receiving an increasing number of calls from patrons who have been instructed to call TLN for help. Please do NOT direct patrons to call TLN! If there is something your library cannot help a patron with, please open a helpdesk ticket so TLN can work with you (not the patron) on the issue. Royal Oak Township Library Royal Oak Township Library left the Shared System as of 9/30/11. Do not register patrons using the Royal Oak Twp. Library as the patron’s home library. Any Royal Oak Township residents using a shared system library should be registered as a resident of that shared system library, with User Profile of SASGUEST and Municipality (User Cat2) of Royal Oak Township. TLN has been removing Royal Oak Twp. Library items, bills and patrons from the system so that SirsiDynix can remove that Library Policy and all associated policies for Royal Oak Twp. TLN and the Shared Technology Services department will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Staff will use the holiday hours to perform system maintenance activities. The closed time should not affect e-mail notices but will affect phone notifications (calls are not made on holidays) and mailed notices. Libraries should be a little generous with leaving things on hold shelf a little longer over the holidays. Tech Services Update – Angie Michelini (TLN) Springfield’s fiber connection is being activated today and Melvindale’s (the last one to be activated) is next week. There are 55 library buildings with fiber connections on TLN’s WAN (SAS and non-SAS library buildings.) 11 SAS libraries are using cable connections. Staff are in the process of conducting interviews for the System Administrator vacancy. If there is no answer when you contact Help Desk with an urgent question, please contact one of the cell phone numbers mentioned. If it is not urgent, please leave a message or open a Help Desk ticket.
