Join the Greenville Public Library Association

The Library Association was established in 1882 as a way to support the Library, both through dues and participating in the management of the Library by voting for the Trustees. The Greenville Library is a private non-profit corporation that provides public library services. Members help support the mission of the Library, so we can continue to provide programs, books, movies, computers, meeting space, and other important services to Smithfield and the surrounding communities. About 70% of the Library's funding comes from the Town of Smithfield, the rest comes from state grant-in-aid, private grants, income on savings and endowments, and people like you who choose to join the Library Association. As a member you will receive the monthly newsletter mailed to your house, early admission to book sales, and will be eligible to vote for the Board of Trustees at the Association's annual meeting.

To join the Library Association please call us for an application at 949-3630 ext. 1 or go directly to: http://www.yourlibrary.ws/Membership%20JoinToday.html

Dues are $10 for an individual, $15 for a family, and $50 for a business. Additional contributions are always welcome.

Become a Friend of the Library

If you have an hour or two a month that you could devote to volunteering at the Library, you can become a Friend. Friends assist with fundraising and other activities and are ambassadors for the Library in the community. If you have some time you could devote to helping the Library please contact Dorothy Swain, assistant director (949-3630 ext. 116) or Chris La Roux, Director (949-3630 ext. 117).
