away to a better land and abrighter day. Many years havepassed and gone, but memories ofhim still linger on. He workedvery hard for the ones he loved. His strength and faith came fromthe Lord above. He kept pressingon when he was down a bit.Though tired he was he didn’tquit. When money was low andprices were high he would smileand say “we will get by.” He wasa good man with a gentle touch. If one asked a little he gave themmuch. Through sickness and painhe never gave up. Cotton grown in ‘Ole Morgan!Davy Bolin, of Williams Creek, obtained some cotton seed last year while on vacation in Florida. After danger of frost this spring, Mr. Bolin, who enjoys gardening as a hobby, planted cotton seeds in a row with giant sunflowers. He fertilized and tended the cotton just like the rest of his garden, and the cotton he is holding is the result of his efforts. The cotton plants grew approximately 12 to 14 inches tall. Prior to the pod forming with the cotton, there were blooms similar to that of a petunia on the stems. The pods didn’t open to reveal the cotton inside until after they were cut and taken inside.
