The Repair Cafe volunteers are here to show you how to repair broken or in-need-of-repair items on SATURDAYS, SEPTEMBER 16 and OCTOBER 21 from 10am - 1:30pm The Repair Cafe brings together volunteers and members of our community. The volunteers show how broken, torn or non-functioning items can be repaired and in doing so, keep them out of landfills. We have repaired clothing, wooden items, jewelry, small appliances, chainsaws, lamps, etc. We are now featuring a Kid s Table, meeting at 11:30am. Children, working together or with a partner, have a supervised tear-down space where things can safely be taken apart. This is a fun way for the next generation to learn how things work. What to bring: an item to dissassemble (no computers or cell phones), a pad of paper and a pen to make a sketch, a small spade screwdriver and a tweezer. THE ECONOMY SHOP NEWS

We are starting a new Economy Shop Season! The first shopping day is on Thursday, September 7. As many of you know, we have volunteers who staff Housewares. We are in charge of marking, pricing, displaying and selling things for the kitchen and linens rooms. We are always looking for

volunteers to help out. If you only have a short amount of time available, a lot can be done even in a half an hour. We need volunteers for both the marking days (in the mornings, two days before the sale days) and the sale days. The marking days are spent measuring, marking and displaying items. On the

sale days we are available to assist customers, package items and help with check out. We have a great group of volunteers and it’s a lot of fun.

If you would like to help out, please let Nancy G. or Helen know and we’ll put you on the email list. There is never any pressure to volunteer - we appreciate you helping out when you are available.

The support the Economy Shop gives to the SCCOPRF is greatly appreciated and plays a major role in keeping our Center a viable and important community resource.

Also, again, many thanks to last season’s volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without you!!

SALE DATES from 9am - 3pm: Thursdays, September 7 and October 5 Saturdays, September 16 and 23 and October 14 & 21
